Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, inspected the vegetable and fruit shed in the city of Qusia to follow up on the buying and selling movement and control prices, within the framework of the directives of the political leadership and the assignments of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and the continuous follow-up of Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, to provide goods and tighten control over commodity sales outlets. During his tour, the Governor of Assiut was assured of the availability and quality of the supply of vegetables and fruits at reasonable prices. He discussed with a number of sellers the prices of vegetables and fruits, stressing adherence to the established prices, not exaggerating and announcing the prices, pointing to the importance of the influential role of wholesalers in creating a balance in the prices of vegetables and fruits.
Abu Al-Nasr stressed that the governorate is keen to strongly confront high prices and take all deterrent measures against violators and those not committed to selling at indicative prices, especially since the state is keen to secure additional quantities of food, basic and consumer goods and put them on the markets first-hand in order to reduce prices and reduce the living burdens on the citizen. .
The Governor of Assiut directed, earlier, during his meetings with the heads of centers and districts, to coordinate with wholesalers to hold exhibitions and exhibitions in various centers and cities of the governorate to provide consumer goods and foodstuffs at prices reduced from the market to address the high prices and reach the most needy citizens and help them purchase their needs at reasonable prices. He also stressed the intensification of Inspection and follow-up campaigns on markets, and continuing to organize campaigns on a periodic and continuous basis, to eliminate the phenomena of commercial fraud and price manipulation.
