Damanhour University launches the opening activities of the Focal Theater Festival in its second session
Dr. Elhamy Tarabis, President of Damanhour University, and Dr. Maged Shaala, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, witnessed the opening ceremony of the Focal Theater Festival in its second session, under the slogan “Create your own theater.”
The ceremony began with the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in the presence of a group of deans and deans of colleges, and representatives of student care departments, as well as the participation of members of the jury, which includes the artist/Mohamed Al-Bayaa, the director and poet/Sameh Rakha, and the artist/Ahmed. Al-Qastawi, in the Theater 1 of the Faculty of Science.
The President of Damanhour University confirms the university’s keenness to support student activities as a beacon of culture and art
The President of the University began his speech by welcoming the audience, members of the jury, and students, expressing his great happiness at organizing the Focal Theater Festival in its second session, following the success of the festival in its first edition. He pointed out that theatrical activity is one of the distinguished student activities organized by the university and is witnessing strong competition between colleges. A distinguished opportunity to highlight the artistic talents of students in the various theater arts, and to create artistic movement at the level of the works and theatrical arts that represent them, through the evaluation of the artistic works of the participating students by a specialized committee.
Trabis: The university, as one of the enlightening institutions, has the greatest role in building the character of young people
Trabis stressed Damanhour University’s keenness to support student activities. Considering the university a beacon of culture and art, through which minds are opened and human feelings are elevated; Pointing out that the university’s role is not limited to the educational aspect only, stressing that Damanhour University pays great attention to student activities in general, and theatrical activity in particular, because of its effective role in discovering young talents, embracing them, supporting their abilities, and raising the degree of students’ awareness of the importance of theater and its purposeful message. Which contributes strongly to the enlightenment and advancement of the human being culturally and intellectually, based on the role of the university as one of the enlightening institutions that has the greatest role in building the personality of young people, and thus effectively contributing to Advancement of society as a whole.

At the conclusion of his speech, the University President thanked the jury and those in charge of the Focal Theater Festival for the festival’s appearance in an honorable manner that reflects the distinguished organization, which contributes to assisting the distinguished talents of the university’s students, and helping them to achieve the greatest benefit through these various events and activities, advising the students to preserve their theater and develop it. To broader horizons, and to invest their energies and creativity in presenting works that contribute to shaping a better tomorrow built on the values of truth, goodness and beauty.”
Vice President of the University: Art has an important role in stimulating abilities, building sound awareness among students, and developing their creative skills
Dr. Majid Shaala thanked the University President for his continuous support for student activities, praising the role of student care at the university and the Student Union, and their effective contribution in exporting an honorable image for the Focala Theater Festival, expressing his happiness with the university’s talented and creative students in all fields in general and theater in particular. This is based on the belief in the role of art in stimulating abilities, building sound awareness among students, and developing their creative skills.
Al-Bayaa thanks the university president for providing all means of support and sponsorship for the Focus Theater Festival in its second session
During his speech, the artist / Mohamed Al-Bayaa expressed his sincere happiness to participate in the Focala Theater Festival in its second session, offering many thanks to the President of Damanhour University for his keenness to implement the recommendations of the Focala Festival in its first session, and to provide all means of support and care to the participating students, which reflects positively on the excellence and superiority of the students. He praised the talents of Damanhour University students.
For their part, the students expressed their great happiness with Damanhour University’s support for them, stressing that this constant support motivates them to do their best and give their best to reap the fruits of success thanks to wise management and a distinguished and cooperative work team.
The festival comes under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Ashry – Director General of the General Administration for Student Welfare, Mr. Mohamed Al-Shaira – Director of the Department of Artistic Activities at Damanhour University and the Festival Director. The first day of the festival includes two shows, “Outside the Circle” for students of the Faculty of Engineering, and “Mashnouk Memoirs” presented by students. College of Arts, and the festival activities continue until Tuesday, November 26.
