Damanhour University organizes a comprehensive community service convoy to the village of Abu Khatib in Abu Al-Matamir

The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Damanhour University launched a comprehensive development service convoy to the village of Abu Khatib in Abu al-Matamir to provide services to the people of the village, with the participation of the faculties of “Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Education, and Early Childhood Education,” under the supervision of the deans and deans of the faculties for community service, and Professor Dr. Saber Shehata – Convoy Coordinator at the University, and Professor Hind Al-Jundi – Decent Life Coordinator at the University, in cooperation with Engineer / Mohamed Atef, Engineer / Omar Al-Walid – Decent Life Coordinators at Abu Al-Matamir Center.

Planting 150 seedlings of fruit trees as part of Damanhour University’s participation in the 100 Million Trees and Bedaya initiatives.

During the convoy; Within the framework of Damanhour University’s keenness to participate in the “Bedaya” and “100 Million Trees” initiatives, 150 seedlings of fruit trees provided by the university were planted, ranging from “lemon, olive, tangerine, guava, pomegranate,” to contribute to providing services to the villages most in need, and reducing From the risks of global warming and climate change, and increasing the area of ​​green spaces.

Damanhour Nursing provides health services and first aid training to the people of Abu Khatib village

The “Health Caravan” provided its services to the people of the village through a health survey measuring blood pressure and detecting diabetes for 50 citizens, health education for 25 women about breast cancer and ways to detect it, teaching them how to self-examine the breast using illustrative pictures, and health education for 25 women about the issue of organizing Beds, available methods and how to use them, an explanation of the most important advantages and disadvantages of each method, 25 women about caring for the pregnant mother and child, the child’s vaccination schedule and the importance of breastfeeding, as well as education. Health education on chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, hepatitis C, and the virus C for 40 citizens, in addition to health education for 40 citizens about a healthy lifestyle, smoking cessation, combating abuse, and treating addiction.

To complement the health convoy’s services to the villagers; 40 citizens of the village were trained in first aid, explaining cases of suffocation, wounds, fractures, and burns and how to deal with them.

While the “veterinary convoy” conducted veterinary examinations of cows and buffaloes in the specialties of internal medicine and infectious diseases, and the necessary treatment was provided, in addition to awareness and veterinary education about common diseases and methods of prevention.

The College of Agriculture provides free services and consultations to the farmers of the village of Abu Khatib

The fields were visited and disease infections in field crops and vegetables grown during the “agricultural convoy” were diagnosed. The convoy also provided agricultural awareness and guidance, and made recommendations about fertilizing crops and the problem of soil salinity.

The dangers of illegal immigration, smoking, addiction, and spreading a culture of no illiteracy, the most prominent educational awareness services provided during today’s convoy.

Regarding awareness and educational services; Members of the “Cultural Awareness Caravan” in the Colleges of Education and Early Childhood Education raised awareness of the dangers of illegal immigration, the importance of eradicating illiteracy and spreading a culture of non-illiteracy, and students from the College of Education visited Abu Al-Khatib Preparatory School in the village, and highlighted the health, social and financial dangers of smoking, as well as the dangers of addiction and its causes. To a large number of school students, and explaining how to contact the Anti-Addiction Fund hotline to help medical cases.

Coinciding with the celebration of International Children’s Day, early childhood education students presented a number of activities to the children of the new Abu Khatib Primary School, which varied between educational activities using different methods, recreational and musical activities, drawing and coloring, in addition to entertaining movement activities and the use of glove puppets.
