The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Hani Sweilem, stressed his keenness to follow up on the condition of water resources and facilities to protect against the dangers of floods in various governorates to ensure their full readiness to deal with the heavy rainy season and torrential rains, and to ensure their ability to protect citizens, facilities, and infrastructure from the dangers of floods.< /p>

This came during an inspection visit by the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, today, Friday, to the reservoirs and facilities for protection against the dangers of floods in the Al-Saf Center in Giza Governorate, which are The Ghammaza Al-Kubra torrent outlet with the locations of the origin of the gammaza torrent and several locations on the upstream and the downstream location, and also to inspect the Al-Saff torrent outlet.

The Minister directed that the Survey Research Institute immediately raise the sectors of the mouth of the Ghammaza Al-Kubra torrent outfall to determine the amounts of dredging that was carried out during the clearing of the outfall. The lifting work will be completed within 72 hours, and those proven to be negligent in the work of dredging and clearing flood leaks will be transferred to investigation.

The Minister of Water Resources also inspected Al-Khashab Canal Irrigator, and he directed the rapid removal of the collections of garbage that some residents had thrown into the canal… He appealed to citizens to preserve the waterways and protect them from pollution… stressing the role of localities in preventing the dumping of garbage into the waterways. The Minister also directed the need for coordination between the agencies of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and Giza Governorate regarding protecting canals and drains from dumping garbage. Dr. Hani Sweilem also inspected the Tifif Ghamza estuary, and directed immediate disinfection and the removal of garbage and waste, and directed the Helwan Irrigation Department to continuously follow up on entering disinfection orders into the disinfection system prepared for this matter within 48 hours.
