During his visit to the New Valley Governorate, today; Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, was keen to meet with a delegation from the Egyptian-Chinese Businessmen Foundation, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, and Alaa. El-Din Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Major General Dr. Mohamed Al-Zamlot, Governor of the New Valley, and Hanan Magdy, Deputy Governor. 

 

At the beginning of the meeting, which included Mohamed Alaa El-Din, Secretary General of the Egyptian-Chinese Businessmen Foundation, and a group of Chinese businessmen representing a number of companies operating in Egypt in many sectors. The Governor of the New Valley welcomed the delegation of Egyptian-Chinese businessmen, stressing the Prime Minister’s keenness to meet with them in order to support and enhance aspects of joint cooperation.

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly indicated that there is room for cooperation with the businessmen members of the delegation, especially in a number of crops, and converting palm leaves into Timber, as well as what is related to agricultural greenhouses through which various agricultural crops can be exported abroad.

 

The Prime Minister noted that the projects planned to be implemented will be followed up, to identify any challenges or challenges. Obstacles that the implementation and work processes may face may be removed, stressing the Egyptian government’s full support for various Chinese projects in Egypt.

 

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly indicated that there are areas of cooperation. And close relations with the Egyptian and Chinese political leadership, praising the Chinese President’s indication at the opening of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum of his keenness to support investment in Africa.

 

For his part, Mohamed Alaa presented El-Din, Secretary General of the Egyptian-Chinese Businessmen Foundation, thanked the Prime Minister for the opportunity to hold this meeting, which comes in light of the directives of the political leadership to discuss opportunities for cooperation with the Chinese side regarding improving agricultural productivity, and cooperation in the fields of agricultural research and agricultural manufacturing, as well as Access of Egyptian agricultural products to Chinese markets, noting in this regard that the Foundation is coordinating with the Chinese side to discuss ways of cooperation, and providing various support and information to encourage them to invest in Egypt, and also providing the support required to conduct technical and market studies to begin implementing a number of investment projects in this field. The promising sector.

 

Mohamed Alaa El-Din stressed the Foundation’s keenness to support Chinese investments in Egypt, especially with the existence of successful models of investment in the Egyptian state, such as the TEDA Industrial Zone, as he reported. The Chinese side praised the facilities and incentives, especially tax, provided to investors.

 

The Secretary General of the Egyptian-Chinese Businessmen Foundation indicated that there are several areas of cooperation between the two sides, whether in the agricultural or energy fields. New and renewed, pointing to the recent visit made by a delegation including a number of major Chinese agricultural companies to Egypt, to explore the Egyptian market, as well as the visit made by the Governor of the New Valley to participate in the Agricultural Innovation Conference in Beijing last month, which included meeting a large number of private sector companies. He added: As a result of this very successful visit, the Chinese side decided to begin immediate work on organizing agricultural investment operations inside Egypt by forming an alliance that includes a large number of companies with the aim of establishing an integrated agricultural community on an area of ​​one million acres in the New Valley Governorate to include the cultivation of strategic crops for the Egyptian state with higher productivity and limited use of water, and the cultivation of crops of high economic value such as: aromatic and medicinal plants, and the establishment of an agricultural greenhouse complex for growing fruits with the aim of exporting to Europe, establishing a complex for advanced agricultural research, and establishing an integrated agricultural industrial complex to localize a number of agricultural industries in Egypt, provided that clean and renewable energy generation plants are established within the framework of the project, explaining that this idea came along the lines of the Chinese industrial zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (TEDA). This project will be a comprehensive Chinese agricultural zone in cooperation with the government and the Egyptian private sector.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his keenness to support the Foundation’s investments in Egypt, as well as follow-up during the coming period.
