Scream Queens Actress Defends Keke Palmer For ‘Speaking Out’

In her new book, Master Of Me: The Secret To Controlling Your Narrative, Keke Palmer has been spilling the tea on some not-so-pleasant experiences during her stint on Scream Queens. And now, her former co-star Skyler Samuels has entered the chat to back her up.

Skyler, who had to refer to her character as ‘Señorita Awesome’ in the show, took to Instagram to show her support for Keke. “I am incredibly proud of Keke for speaking out about her experiences on Scream Queens. That’s what Keke does, she speaks up and stands up, for herself and others,” she wrote. Honestly, we stan a supportive queen.

Skyler went on to reveal that the show wasn’t exactly a walk in the park for her either. “Scream Queens was a very challenging show for me. Keke was one of the only people who stood up for me,” she wrote.

Now, let’s rewind a bit and get into the nitty-gritty of what Keke actually said. Apparently, she had a bad experience with none other than the show’s creator Ryan Murphy.

In her book, Keke recounted a time when she tried to schedule another gig during a break from filming. Ryan’s response? Let’s just say it wasn’t exactly warm and fuzzy.

She opened up further about the situation to the Los Angeles Times and according to Keke, “It was kind of like I was in the dean’s office. He was like, ‘I’ve never seen you behave like this. I can’t believe that you, out of all people, would do something like this’,”

I’ve officially set a new record on how far I can roll my eyes back at a man.

Keke also dropped a bombshell about a racist comment made by a co-star she dubbed “Brenda”. When Keke tried to play peacemaker during an on-set tiff, “Brenda” allegedly snapped back with, “Keke, literally, just don’t. Who do you think you are? Martin fucking Luther King?” Oof, “Brenda” needs to sit down.

Ryan Murphy has not yet responded to the comments about him or the show.

Skyler concluded her post by saying, “[Keke] was brave enough to have my back even though she knew it might make her the target of bullies on set.

“I have unending gratitude for the professionalism and kindness Keke showed me. She is a leading lady in this industry who is well aware of her influence, and she uses it for the better.”

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to add Keke’s book to my Christmas wishlist. Spill that tea, girl!
