Cairo Governor: The one-day market aims to eliminate the intermediate links between the producer and the consumer to reduce costs

Cairo Governor, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, confirmed that all executive agencies are working to implement the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to reduce the burden on citizens, provide goods at reasonable prices, and provide them with various possible forms of support.

 

This came during the inauguration of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, acting on behalf of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, the first one-day markets in Cairo, which was established in cooperation between Cairo Governorate and the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in front of Al Rashdan Mosque in Nasr City; To provide high-quality food commodities at lower prices than their counterparts in the markets, at rates starting from 20% and up to 50% in some commodities.

 

Dr. Ibrahim Saber indicated that the one-day market targets Eliminating the intermediate links between the producer and the consumer to reduce the cost, adding that the market, in which more than 50 cars participated to sell food commodities to citizens, will be held every Friday in the same area, and 4 plots of land have been provided in Al-Marj, Al-Salam, and 15 Mayo, and the Tenth District, to implement the idea of ​​a one-day market to ensure that the largest possible number of citizens benefit from the discounts offered and to work to provide food products at reduced prices and high quality in cooperation with the Ministry of Supply, the Chamber of Commerce, public and private sector companies, and various community initiatives. 

 

Saber stressed the governorate’s keenness to expand the establishment of more outlets and exhibitions for selling goods at the neighborhood level, in addition to the presence of mobile outlets in all neighborhoods, especially the areas with the most In need of selling at a wholesale price to ease the burden on citizens.. Pointing out that the executive agencies in the governorate are carrying out intensive campaigns in all regions and neighborhoods of Cairo with the aim of ensuring the availability of goods of various types in sufficient quantities and at appropriate prices, and to control markets and confront commercial fraud or manipulation of prices, and attempts to monopolize basic commodities by some. Merchants.

 

The governor pointed out the existence of intensive periodic monitoring campaigns on all markets, exhibitions, outlets and commercial chains from The directorates of veterinary medicine, health, and supply in the governorate, to ensure the validity of the goods, their quality, and their compliance with specifications. At 5 p.m., more than 50 cars will be paid, which can be increased, in coordination with the Holding Company for Food Industries at the Ministry of Supply, to sell all basic commodities such as oil, sugar, rice, salsa, pasta, detergents and soap, to… In addition to fresh meat, poultry, fish, dairy and cheese, vegetables and fruits, juices, honey, and legumes, in addition to the availability of eggs.

 

On the sidelines of the market, the Misr University of Science and Technology established a college Pharmaceutical sciences and drug manufacturing launched an awareness campaign under the slogan “ Towards a healthy lifestyle " With the aim of educating citizens to rationalize consumption, how to buy healthy levels of products and not to go overboard in order to preserve health and achieve development.
