T-Mobile goes down across the US as users report service outage

T-Mobile has gone down for tens of thousands of Americans across the nation.

Users report the outage has left them without service, causing dropped calls and unsent text messages.

Others have reported no internet service due to the disruptions.

Downdetector’s outage map shows issues in hotspots, including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and Phoenix, but reports have suggested the entire state of Utah is without service.

Utah reported a ‘major event’ that knocked out four cellular towers.

Downdetector showed disruptions hit around 1:45pm ET, hitting a peak of more than 19,000 reports by 2:30pm ET.

T-Mobile has not acknowledged the outage on social media, leaving users in a panic – and without cellular service.

The company’s T-Mobile Help account on X has responded to some frustrated customers’ posts, but has not issued a public statement.

T-Mobile is the second largest wireless carrier in the nation, after Verizon, with more than 127 million customers.

‘T-Mobile has been down for hours in Utah. What a mess,’ one user shared on X.

Local news in Utah has suggested that there is a ‘major event’ plaguing four cell towers in St George.

A user in the area asked at 3:00pm ET if ‘anyone else was having issues with T-Mobile today.’

‘Hi, let’s see what’s causing you to have to be on Wi-Fi calling in Salt Lake City, Utah. Meet us in DM with your address,’ T-Mobile Help shared at 3:28pm.

‘We’ll review the coverage in your area right away. Thanks.’

Approximately 69 percent of issue reports to Downdetector site ‘No Signal,’ 18 percent ‘Mobile phone’ and 13 percent of users are experiencing a ‘Total blackout.’

Users are likely seeing ‘SOS’ somewhere on their iPhone or Android screen, meaning the device can only make emergency calls.

The T-Mobile outage comes on the heels of a Verizon service disruption that hit Americans Monday evening.

Reports of outages flared between midnight and 2am EST, prompting rife complaints across social media and insistence that engineers were working to fix the issue.

A Verizon spokesperson told DailyMail.com this morning: ‘A network issue early this morning disrupted service for some Verizon Fios customers in the Northeast a short period of time.

As soon as the issue was identified, our engineering teams quickly restored the service.’

More than 40,000 instances were reported early this morning, up from fewer than 100 before the spike.

Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Alexandria and Washington were among the most reported locations.
