The New York Yankees have made their decision on the fate of manager Aaron Boone following the team’s World Series implosion.
The Yankees suffered humiliation in the World Series at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 1-4 series defeat, sealed by a number of blunders in Game 5.
Despite title 28 evading the Pinstripes, the franchise announced that Boone would be extending his stay in the Bronx.
The Yankees confirmed Friday morning that they had exercised their 2025 club option for the manager.
Boone, who first took charge of the decorated franchise in 2018, signed a three-year contract extension in 2021, which included the team option for 2025.
The team has now opted to pick up the option, bringing back Boone for the upcoming campaign.
