The Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives, headed by Representative Nora Ali, held a meeting to continue discussing EgyptAir’s plan to improve and develop the customer experience, and to discuss a briefing request submitted by Representative Amani Al-Shaouli regarding this. This came in the presence of representatives of the company, including the President of Cairo Air Port, and the President of EgyptAir Services. She confirmed Amani Al-Shaouli, Secretary of the Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives, said that she had submitted a briefing request based on Article 134 of the Constitution and Article 212 of the House’s internal regulations, addressed to the Minister of Civil Aviation. The request addressed the problem of repeated delays in foreign flights of “Egypt Air” company. Airplanes are exposed to some malfunctions, such as malfunctions of air conditioners, as a result of failure to comply with the necessary maintenance. It demanded that the briefing request be referred to the Tourism and Civil Aviation Committee to take the necessary action. The head of EgyptAir Maintenance and Technical Works said that the problem of flight delays lies in the intensity of operation and the small number of aircraft, as the current fleet amounts to 65 operating aircraft.
With regard to the issue of taxis outside Cairo Airport: The head of Cairo Air Port said that a smart application on phones through a barcode will be trialled on November 15 to ensure that there is no human intervention through contracting with 23 limousine companies and 400 cars. Reducing delays that occur due to ground procedures. Such as filling fuel or loading luggage.
Raising the retirement age for aircraft maintenance engineers and technicians to 65 years and finding an urgent and decisive solution to preserve trained workers.
Informing passengers on delayed flights And sending more cabin crew to take care of passengers on delayed planes.
Accelerating the existence of an electronic system that regulates transportation services at Cairo Airport, especially with regard to taxis.
Accelerating the launch of the trial broadcast of the electronic application that allows travelers to book a ride. Transportation or taxis.
Develop an indicative price schedule for the distances traveled to prevent exploitation of passengers, whether Egyptians or foreigners.
Allocate specific waiting areas for each type of transportation service and place clear indicative signs.
