The National Research Center ranked third as the best research body in Greater Cairo, among the top 100 scientific and technological clusters in the world, according to the Global Innovation Index 2024.
This result came from the state’s keenness to encourage scientists to research and innovate, and to support Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and scientific research. This came in a statement by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, explaining that the National Research Center ranked third in Greater Cairo as the best research body after Cairo University and Ain Shams within the top 100 scientific and technological clusters at the level of The world according to the Global Innovation Index 2024.
Professor Fajr Abdel-Gawad, Acting Head of the Center, expressed her happiness, gratitude, and appreciation to the scientists who contributed, through their pioneering research and distinguished innovations, to reaching this high level of progress. It is noteworthy that the Global Innovation Index is an annual report that measures and classifies the innovation performance of countries around the world, published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in partnership with many other organizations and academic institutions. This index measures a wide range of innovation-related indicators, including factors such as research and development (R&D) investment, intellectual property protection, human capital and research, technology output, and creative output.
