Head of the Nursing Syndicate at the Tenth International Conference on Nursing and Midwifery in"Abu Dhabi"

Kawthar Mahmoud stresses the importance of nursing in promoting preventive health and caring for the elderly

 

Dr. Kawthar Mahmoud, Head of the Nursing Syndicate, participated in the activities of the Tenth International Conference on Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Medical Professions , which was held in Abu Dhabi over three days with the participation of 1,500 healthcare professionals, in addition to the presence of a number of nursing leaders in the Arab world, where the conference reviewed the latest global trends in healthcare aimed at promoting healthy lifespan.

She noted. Dr. Kawthar Mahmoud, in her speech at the conference, referred to the demographic transformations that the world is experiencing today, as the population is living longer compared to previous generations.

The head of the Nursing Syndicate cited statistics from the World Health Organization, which indicated that the average life expectancy in the world is It has doubled since the twentieth century, as those who reach the age of 65 today are expected to live until the age of 85, that is, an increase of ten years over their parents’ generation.

She continued, saying: This increase in lifespan is not just additional years. It also means a healthier life, and it is a responsibility that falls on nursing, which plays a prominent role in preparing individuals for healthy aging.

Dr. Kawthar Mahmoud stressed that nursing contributes directly to achieving the concept of healthy aging, by providing Preventive care, supporting the elderly, and helping them deal with chronic conditions.

She explained that the elderly often face complex health challenges that require careful follow-up, stressing that the role of nurses does not stop at providing basic care, but rather includes providing education. Monitor symptoms, help manage medications, and enhance self-care strategies, which contributes to enabling individuals to maintain their independence and ability to manage their health conditions.

The President of the Nursing Syndicate also touched on the importance of nursing skills in providing palliative care, as they play a role in Nurses play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive care to patients in the final stages of their lives, in addition to providing care for dementia patients, who constitute an increasing percentage among the elderly, stressing that the increasing cases of dementia make it necessary for nursing staff to be familiar with the best practices for caring for these patients.

The conference witnessed discussions on the latest technology in the field of health care, as it addressed the role of artificial intelligence and robotics in enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of medical care, and it was reviewed how artificial intelligence contributes to improving diagnosis, increasing the accuracy of surgical operations, and raising the level of medical care provided. For patients.

The conference discussed applications of artificial intelligence that aim to make health care more comprehensive and effective, in addition to discussing youth sustainability medicine, which seeks to promote a healthy human lifespan through care strategies based on scientific evidence.
