Fans have called for Danny Welbeck to be called into England’s next squad after he continued his stunning form against Wolves.
The 33-year-old has been prolific this season, scoring five goals in Brighton’s nine matches in the Premier League prior to hosting Gary O’Neil’s side, including two in his previous two against Tottenham and Newcastle.
Welbeck took his tally for the season to six with a clinical finish to give Brighton the lead at home to Wolves.
And fans have heaped praise on the ex-Manchester United and Arsenal striker, insisting his bright form has earned him a return to the England squad.

Welbeck’s strike against Wolves means he is just three goals short of his best league tally in a season having score nine for United in 2011-12 campaign.
Welbeck’s last appearance for England came in a 1-0 friendly win over Switzerland in September 2018.
He will be hopeful of returning to the fold when Lee Carsley names his squad for the Nations League matches against Greece and the Republic of Ireland.
