Intensive campaigns to control markets, monitor prices, and ensure the quality of subsidized bread

The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has recently taken a number of proactive measures to eliminate the greed of merchants and provide basic goods to citizens at reduced prices, in implementation of the directives of the government’s political leadership to reduce the burden on the Egyptian family. In this context, Dr. Sherif Farouk was appointed Minister of Supply. And internal trade, the Holding Company for Food Industries, by providing and increasing the rates of pumping and releasing large quantities of table eggs in consumer complexes across the Republic to suit the needs of citizens.

In implementation of the minister’s assignments, the Holding Company for Industries contracted to import quantities of up to one million dishes. Eggs equivalent to 30 million high-quality table eggs, as their first shipments arrived several days ago via Cairo Airport, and the Ministry began increasing pumping rates in consumer complexes in large quantities, reaching 10,000 plates per week at a price of 150 pounds per plate (30 eggs), which contributes In meeting the needs of the Egyptian market and stabilizing the prices of table eggs.

On the supervisory side, the Ministry of Supply witnessed intensive meetings and continuous coordination, as a meeting was held with the leaders of the ministry, the undersecretaries of the ministry, and the directors of the supply directorates at the republic level, to confirm… Following up on the availability of goods and strategic stocks, intensifying oversight of markets and bakeries, and ensuring the quality of subsidized bread. 

The meeting in which Major General Walid Abu Al-Majd, Deputy Minister of Supply, participated, stressed the importance of coordinating efforts between the authorities concerned with commercial and supply control. To achieve discipline in the markets and monitor prices, in addition to discussing plans to develop the supply system and improve the quality of services provided to citizens through the bread system and the supply goods system.

The Ministry’s leaders stressed to the directors of the directorates the necessity of strengthening control mechanisms and intensifying inspection campaigns in cooperation with All relevant authorities, including the General Administration of Supply Police and the Consumer Protection Agency, in addition to the need to address any monopolistic practices that may occur or price manipulation, to ensure market stability and protect citizens, and the importance of intensifying the supply of food commodities in duty-free markets and ration outlets.

< p>While the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade stressed the continuation of coordination between the Ministry and the various regulatory authorities to achieve food security requirements and market stability, indicating that the Ministry will not be lax in applying the law to violators, while emphasizing that providing goods with high quality and appropriate prices represents a top priority within The Ministry’s plan to support citizens and improve catering services.
