A newspaper, some websites, and social media circulated news regarding the government’s intention to sell EgyptAir and the completion of technical studies and the timetable for offering a number of its subsidiaries for management and operation.
The Cabinet Media Center has In contact with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which denied these reports, stressing that this information has no basis in truth and that there is no intention of the government to sell the company or offer any of its subsidiaries for management and operation, stressing in this regard that EgyptAir is a national company and one of the main arms of the state. In the air transport system, it is considered one of the most important basic pillars supporting the national economy, explaining that the Egyptian state is implementing an integrated strategy whose axes are based on developing EgyptAir, modernizing its aircraft fleet, and expanding its airline network by opening new markets.
