The Supreme Council for Educational Affairs recommends motivating students to enroll in modern scientific specializations

The Supreme Council for Education and Student Affairs recommended that the vice presidents of universities for education and student affairs encourage and qualify students to enroll in modern scientific specializations, such as (communications, computers, information systems, software, and artificial intelligence).

This came during the regular meeting of the Supreme Council for Education and Student Affairs, headed by Dr. Mustafa Rifaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, in the presence of a number of university presidents, and members of the Council who are vice presidents of universities for education and student affairs, at the headquarters of the secretariat of the Supreme Council of Universities, and at the beginning of the session. The Council observed a minute of silence for the souls of the students of Galala University, asking God Almighty to shower them with His mercy and dwell them in His spacious paradise.

 

Dr. Mustafa Rifaat was mourned in the name of Dr. Ayman Ashour. The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and on behalf of the members of the esteemed Council of Vice Presidents of Universities for Education and Student Affairs, is deeply saddened and saddened by the death of the students of Galala University in the painful accident to which they were exposed. The Council extends its deepest condolences to their families, asking God Almighty to cover them with His vast mercy. May He rest them in His spacious gardens and inspire their families with patience and solace. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured students.

 

The Council discussed a number of important topics, including the necessity of spreading the culture of competition at all levels. , especially at the academic level, in light of what was presented by Dr. Mahmoud Mumtaz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Competition Protection Agency, who addressed in his presentation the definition of competition policy, its concept, and objectives, in addition to the vision and mission of the agency. The vision included contributing to raising the efficiency of the national economy by enhancing Competition in the markets.

 

He presented the strategic objectives of spreading the culture of competition among academic groups, and explained the agency’s efforts to do so by introducing courses related to protecting competition in the school curricula, and signing cooperation protocols. With Egyptian universities, organizing competitions for the best research paper, in addition to holding workshops and awareness sessions on competition policy and its impact on markets.

 

And within the framework of working to achieve the fourth goal of development. Sustainable, which aims to ensure quality, equitable and inclusive education; In order to enhance Egypt’s 2030 vision for developing university education and raising the international classification of universities, the Council listened to the presentation made by Dr. Angie Al-Damak, Director of the Graduate Management Unit at the Electronic and Knowledge Services Center.

 

The presentation addressed the questionnaire. Al-Masry for Student Participation in Egyptian Universities, which was launched in its first edition last June, and which targets students in the final teams for the academic year 2023/2024. The questionnaire aims to measure the quality of educational services in Egyptian universities, provide real data that helps in making strategic decisions, and enhance communication between students and institutions. The questionnaire also encourages a culture of participation and constructive interaction to improve the quality of the educational process, contribute to attracting a larger number of international students, raise the international classification of Egyptian universities, and achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030. Through this questionnaire, indicators will be issued that show the quality of educational services provided by Egyptian universities.

 

The presentation included the most important objectives of the questionnaire, in addition to the mechanism for collecting and analyzing student data, and extracting reports related to the universities and their affiliated colleges, and sector committees. It was also reviewed how to access The questionnaire, presenting its most important outcomes that highlight the quality of educational services and the opportunities available to improve them.

 

In light of the directives of the political leadership and the instructions of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, we extend bridges. The Council approved the proposal submitted by Dr. Sherine Yahya, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for People with Disabilities, and Dr. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities, under the title “A Comprehensive Campaign to Awareness of the Rights of Students with Disabilities,” in cooperation with the Campaign Life Givers (HOPE GIVER).

The campaign aims to raise awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities, and to enhance the voices and opinions of students with disabilities within the university community, and the first events will begin as of Saturday, 10/26/2024, in universities Cairo, Alexandria, Suez, Mansoura, Minya, and Assiut, to conclude at Luxor University in the first week of next December.

 

The Council was informed of the report submitted by the Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities. About the training program to prepare artificial intelligence leaders, which was held at Aqaba University of Technology during the period from 9/8/2024 to 9/13/2024. The training program aimed to enable Arab youth to keep pace with the rapid changes in the digital and information world, and sought to build their capabilities in the fields of intelligence. Artificial Intelligence and Information Security. The program also aimed to go beyond theoretical lessons and transform them into practical applications, which qualifies participants to be future leaders in these vital fields.

 

The program also sought to emphasize Arab youth are capable of shaping a bright future for the region through their innovative ideas and creativity, contributing to building a safer and more sustainable future, and preparing a generation of leaders capable of leading the digital transformation in the Arab region.
