Glamorous Palm Beach stable owner, 74, has her nose chopped off ‘by drunk horse groomer with machete’
A glamourous Palm Beach stable owner allegedly had her nose chopped off with a machete by a drunk horse groomer.
Aimee Waters, 74, of Wellington, and friend Joe Hawk were found by police with severe injuries on Tuesday around 8 pm after she had called the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and told them her nose had been cut off, according to CBS 12.
Her alleged attacker was her employee, Abundio Jasso, 56, whom she hired around a month ago to groom horses.
Jasso lived on her property in an RV and she told deputies that their relationship was strained due to his frequent intoxication, CBS 12 said.
On Tuesday, the stable owner noticed Jasso had not completed his night check of the stable and approached him, alongside her tenant Joseph Hawk.

When the 56-year-old opened the RV door, he reportedly shined a flashlight into their eyes and appeared to be under the influence.
Waters and Hawk then went to finish the night check on their own, but Jasso allegedly stormed into the stables moments later with a machete, the local outlet reported.
Jasso attacked Hawk first as he stepped in to protect Waters, but after an initial strike, the groomer was able to gain access to Waters, allegedly chopping off her nose and causing her to collapse on the floor.
Hawk again intervened and was struck multiple times, sustaining deep cuts in his arms and ribcage, according to CBS 12.
The pair eventually managed to escape into a locked room in the barn, where Waters called 911.
By the time police arrived, Jasso had barricaded himself in his RV and admitted to police that he attacked his boss because she had insulted him, according to CBS 12.
Both Waters and Hawk were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The stable owner obtained severe injuries to her nose, as well as, a fractured upper jawbone and facial trauma.

Hawk sustained a metacarpal fracture on his wrist, cuts to his tricep and ribcage, and received 17 stitches on his arm from a deep laceration.
Neighbors credit Hawk with saving Waters’ life.
‘Her friend Joe, who was there, she said, basically saved her life,’ Randy Halvorsrød told CBS 12. ‘She’s doing well. She’s barking orders for the farm, so I guess she’s doing well.
‘It’s just horrifying for us that someone in our community had to endure this, the man who did it. I don’t know what to say.’
