Feathers McGraw is back! Netflix has released the first trailer for “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” which sees the penguin supervillain making a grand return. The new 70-minute feature marks the first “Wallace & Gromit” feature since 2005’s Oscar-winning “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.” And the return of Feathers McGraw is long-awaited for “Wallace & Gromit” fans, as the sinister flightless bird first appeared in Nick Park’s Oscar-winning 1993 short “The Wrong Trousers.”
The voice cast for “Vengeance Most Fowl” sees Ben Whitehead return to voice Wallace, the loving inventor. Peter Kay also returns to play Chief Inspector (formerly PC) Mackintosh. New voice cast members include Lauren Patel (“Everybody’s Talking About Jamie”) and Reece Shearsmith (“League of Gentleman”). Diane Morgan (“Afterlife”), Adjoa Andoh (“Bridgerton”) and Lenny Henry (“The Lord of the Rings”) all have cameos.
Speaking with Variety in July, director and creator Nick Park said he’d always wanted to feature gnomes gone bad in a “Wallace & Gromit” project, but he could never figure out how to write that story. That is., until now: “Three decades on, it felt like the right time. Then it hit me: What if Feathers was involved with these gnomes? We’re hoping that this film will appeal to fans of ‘Gnome Noir’ everywhere and that people will be gratified when they see what Feathers has been up to since ‘The Wrong Trousers.’”
“Vengeance Most Fowl” will have its world premiere at AFI Fest on Oct. 27. It will debut on Netflix on Jan. 3, 2025
