Governor of Beni Suef: We have a bridge network that covers all parts of the governorate by 100% and at a cost exceeding one billion pounds

The Governor of Beni Suef, Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, confirmed that the governorate witnessed a development renaissance in various sectors, over the past 10 years, most notably the infrastructure sector, which included axes, roads and bridges that represent the lifelines for pumping blood to these sectors, and is working to expand. Urban development and tourism revitalization.

The governor said – in a statement to the Middle East News Agency – that the governorate now has a major and internal bridge network on the Nile River. It covers all parts of the governorate by 100% and at a cost exceeding one billion pounds, in addition to raising the efficiency of the Western Desert Highway and the Eastern Desert Free Road, in addition to subsidiary roads for them such as the Zaafarana Road connecting to the Red Sea Governorate and the Ain Sukhna Road leading to the Canal and Sinai Governorates, in addition to 3 giant bridges on the Nile to the north and a bridge. The fourth south of the governorate is Balfshn and a number of pedestrian bridges in the city of Beni Suef to eliminate the problem of traffic congestion on railway tracks, including pedestrian and car bridges that cost more than a billion pounds.

He pointed out that the governorate includes 7 centers and cities with an area of ​​11 thousand km2. It was served by a single agricultural road that passed through the entire center, north from Al-Wasiti to the south by Al-Fashn and to the west by Bahnasia and Samasta. Which has now turned into a road serving the villages after the highways and free roads replaced it to the west by the Western Desert Road, in addition to the eastern free road, in addition to the Ain Sokhna, Zaafarana, Dabaa and regional roads. To complete the large system, the pearl of projects, which is represented by the traffic axes on the Nile River, which connect the western and eastern roads, and a number of other major roads, including: Ain Sokhna Road, which connects Beni Suef to the Canal Governorates, the second road to Zafarana, which connects Beni Suef to the Red Sea Governorate, and a third road linking the governorate to Fayoum. It is called the Damo Road, which came as an alternative to the old Beni Suef-Fayoum Road.

He added that since he assumed his work in the governorate, he witnessed the trial operation of the Adly Mansour Corridor on the Nile, north of the city of Beni Suef. It will be the third axis on the Nile after the old Beni Suef Bridge and the Al-Wasti Bridge, which were built to serve the industrial areas of Kom Abu Radi in Al-Wasiti, west of the governorate, and Bayad, east of the Nile, in Beni Suef. Now, after the full operation of the Adly Mansour Corridor, we have begun to establish the largest project, which is a parking complex, which will represent an important step in Facilitating the movement of taxis between governorates.

The governor continued that the Adly Mansour axis is at the forefront of the major projects that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed to implement due to its strategic role in serving the movement of trade, transportation, investments, and industrial areas east of the Nile, in addition to its important role in Eliminating the danger of the Nile ferries that were widespread in the governorate’s centers and threatening the lives of citizens. However, the ambition of the political will towards a better tomorrow for Upper Egypt did not end, and the governorate was surprised by another general decision, which was the urgent start of establishing the new Al-Fashn axis project… which is considered the largest among the axes.&nbsp

He pointed out that the Al-Fashn axis, which the governorate is preparing to open during the next few months, is one of the five most important axis being implemented on the Nile in Upper Egypt, as the axis is 27 km long and 22 meters wide, " In addition to two traffic lanes with a width of 7.5 meters in each direction, he stressed that this project is considered an artery of development and an important addition in the field of strengthening the road network and serving the investment movement in the governorate and neighboring governorates.

The governor added that the Al-Fashn axis is important in attracting more traffic. Of investments in industrial zones, and the ease of transporting its products for export eastward through the Red Sea ports, in addition to that it will give the governorate another comparative advantage to be added to its resources in the field of investment, as it will support the general local development strategic projects of the governorate, the first of its projects to be implemented was the project to establish an agricultural industrial complex. In the desert back of the center of Samasta, especially since the governorate succeeded in presenting the project to the Council of Ministers and it was approved and directed to complete the procedures for allocating the area for this purpose.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport in Beni Suef, Engineer Nasser Farrag, said that thanks Integrated coordination between the central agencies of the various ministries and the governorate agencies from the Roads and Bridges Authority, the Roads and Transport Directorate, the technical office in the governorate, and all under the full supervision of the Governor of Beni Suef. The governorate was able to establish many major projects, from axes on the Nile to car bridges and others for pedestrians on railway slides, the latest of which is bridges. Harith, the Directorate, and the comprehensive bridge, all of which are on train tracks, are being constructed in the city of Beni Suef to eliminate traffic congestion in the city capitals. Work is also underway on the Fayoum train track bridge in Al-Wasty on the agricultural road.
