"Ismat" He receives the Jordanian ambassador to Cairo to discuss and enhance ways to support partnership and cooperation in the areas of electrical connectivity

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, received, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the Administrative Capital, Ambassador Amjad Al-Adaileh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Arab Republic of Egypt, in the presence of Engineer Sabah Mashali, Deputy Minister, to discuss ways to support and enhance partnership, cooperation and investment in various fields of electricity, electrical connection and energy. Dr. Mahmoud Esmat welcomed the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, stressing the depth of the historical relations that bring together the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom at all levels, and the keenness to Developing cooperation paths in the field of existing and future electrical connectivity and the resulting strengthening, development and modernization of electrical networks, as well as cooperation in various fields of electricity and new and renewable energy, pointing to the deep ties that unite the two brotherly peoples, which are an ideal model for constructive cooperation between Arab countries. In order to enhance joint Arab action and serve the interests of the Arab peoples 

The meeting touched on the vision of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy on diversifying energy sources, the energy mix strategy, relying on new and renewable energies, investment opportunities available in this field, and supporting and assisting the private sector to establish energy projects. Clean water within the framework of the general policy to reduce fuel consumption and reduce carbon emissions,  And the activities of the 32nd session of the Joint Egyptian-Jordanian Higher Committee, which resulted in the agreement of the two sides (Egyptian – Jordanian) to move forward with the executive procedures to conduct a technical and economic feasibility study to increase the capacity of the existing cable from 550 MW to 2000 MW and the necessary supports for the two networks (Egyptian and Jordanian). ), and exchanging experiences and knowledge between the two sides in the field of green hydrogen, its technologies, its legislative and contractual environment, green certificates, and identifying points of contact to unify concepts and achieve common benefit for the two countries 

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat stressed that the state has placed the issue of electric energy at the top of its priorities. As the basic pillar of development in various areas of economic and social life, he explained that Egypt enjoys great wealth in its natural resources, which mainly include wind and solar energy, pointing to the legislative amendments that were made to facilitate investment in this field, which reflects the state’s commitment towards renewable energy projects, which resulted in   A large number of investors from the foreign and local private sector have come forward to enter into new and renewable energy projects in light of the role assigned to it in the national economy and the energy mix and security to achieve sustainable development. For his part, Ambassador Al-Adayla stressed Jordan’s pride in the advanced strategic level that The relations between Jordan and Egypt have reached this point, and the keenness to strengthen them in the context of coordination and cooperation in many fields, especially the energy and electricity sector.

He pointed to the successful electrical connection between the two countries and the agreement to strengthen this project and expand its capabilities to enhance the common goals in The electricity sector, which represents one of the most prominent sustainable cooperation projects between Jordan and Egypt.

Ambassador Al-Adaileh also presented Jordan’s experience in relying on renewable energy to generate electricity, which has reached a good level that the Kingdom aims to raise over the coming years as part of its national plan in the field of energy. .
