Tomorrow, Sunday: the launch of a conference "Donate Life Egypt" Under the auspices of the Minister of Health
The international conference “Donate Life Egypt” will be launched tomorrow, Sunday, October 6, which comes within the framework of the Egyptian state’s ongoing efforts to raise the standards of the health care system in Egypt, with the support of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
This initiative is a turning point in our country’s journey towards developing the organ donation and transplantation system. By establishing branches of this initiative in Egyptian universities and some major hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health. It includes all the prominent national and international figures in the field of organ transplantation coming together to support this initiative and working together to move it forward steadily. The initiative aims to support the efforts of the Egyptian state to develop the organ transplantation system and improve its results in line with the highest international standards, support the efforts of the Egyptian state to help the African and Arab world in this field, organize many educational events and activities in the field of organ transplantation, and promote scientific research in the field of donation and transplantation. Members, as well as building strong and constructive links with international associations and institutions in the field of organ transplantation in a manner befitting Egypt’s status, spreading sound awareness of organ donation and the values of giving, correcting misconceptions and beliefs, as well as spreading awareness of how to prevent diseases that lead to organ failure.
The campaign consists of three phases, the first phase: medical colleges such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, nursing, sciences, and physical therapy, as well as major hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health, and the second phase: non-medical colleges in universities. And the third stage is the entire Egyptian society. The International Donation Life Misr Conference will be held during the period from October 6 to 8, and the conference will present a multi-dimensional program based on the main topics in the field of organ transplantation, such as: – establishing an organ transplantation program from recently deceased donors, the ethics of organ transplantation, immunological challenges, and establishing an information bank. For organ transplantation, as well as the latest science in transplanting living organs.
More than 100 international lecturers and scientists, led by leading international scientific bodies and highly-ranked journals in the field of organ transplantation from various countries of the world, participate in the conference.
