The pulpit of Al-Azhar Mosque is the voice that supports national movements in defending the land
The Friday sermon was delivered today at Al-Azhar Mosque by His Eminence Dr. Hani Odeh, Director of Al-Azhar Mosque, the topic of which revolved around “the glorious victories of October.”
His Eminence Dr. Hani Odeh said that the conflict between truth and falsehood is an eternal conflict, which began since the disobedience of “Satan.” To God – Glory be to Him – and His arrogant refusal to prostrate to Adam, peace be upon him, so that this conflict would then take root in the souls of humans, because of the threat of this accursed one and his temptation towards humans, and history is full of stories that embody this conflict, and the glorious October War, for example, is one of the chapters of this conflict in the modern era. The Egyptians faced great challenges to defend their right to live in peace and dignity, and this war is evidence of the determination and strength of the Egyptians in the face of the brutal enemy, who tried to attack our money and capabilities, and who continues to tamper with the fate of innocent people around us. Odeh explained that the pulpit of Al-Azhar Mosque was the strong voice that supported the national movements in defending the land. Above it stood His Eminence the Grand Imam at the time, Sheikh Abdel Halim Mahmoud, and asked the masses of Egyptians to rally as one behind our valiant armed forces in battle. Dignity and pride in defense of the land; Because dignity and pride can only be bought with the sacrifices of heroes, who paid with their lives as a price for the pride, dignity, security, and stability they bequeathed to us, stressing the importance of taking a lesson from the October War, and for the determination and insistence to be renewed in us to draw inspiration from its lessons, so that we can benefit from this experience in facing the challenges of reality. Which surrounds us on every side, because enemies are lurking in Egypt by fragmenting the nation and creating division between it.
The preacher at Al-Azhar Mosque called for the necessity of adhering to unity because it is the path to victory over enemies, and that we put division aside because it is the destroyer of nations. The Almighty said: “And hold fast to the rope of God all together and do not become divided.” So when the Egyptians were united by one man in the glorious October War, they were able to achieve victory over the enemy. As must All forces, whether religious, cultural or political, must rally behind the national interest, to spread the spirit of hope and determination in the souls of the people. The October War was not only a military battle, but it was a battle of a people defending their rights in every way and in various fields, which is what made the Egyptians victorious in this fateful battle that proved to the world the strength and valor of the Egyptian people, and that they are a people who reject humiliation and defeat no matter how long it takes. < /p>
At the conclusion of the sermon, the preacher at Al-Azhar Mosque urged the youth to arm themselves with the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and to have authentic values and stay away from everything that threatens their faith and morals, so that they can be the protectors of the homeland and the pillars of the future, warning them against being carried away by the intellectual illusions it spreads. Enemies to tamper with their minds in order to weaken the strength of this country and harm it in its youth.
