Cris Collinsworth left in disbelief at NFL moment he’s ‘never seen before’ in Chiefs vs Falcons game
The Falcons’ Bijan Robinson shocked Cris Collinsworth on Sunday night as he produced a hugely unique moment against the Chiefs.
In the first half, quarterback Kirk Cousins was meant to hand off the ball to Robinson but mishandled the snap, knocking it into the path of his running back in midair.
The second-year pro seamlessly caught the low ball while running forward and spared his quarterback’s blushes – even gaining nine yards in the process.
Color commentator Collinsworth, who is in his 16th season of Sunday Night Football following an eight-year playing career, said the ‘unbelievable’ moment was something he’s ‘never seen’ as he marveled at Robinson’s quick reactions.
‘Things are getting crazy around here tonight. There’s something going on in the atmosphere around here,’ he added.

Collinsworth’s shock at Robinson’s incredible save comes after The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand reported that he is about to sign an extension with the network that would keep him as the lead analyst for Sunday Night Football for years to come.
Collinsworth’s new deal would reportedly take him to NBC’s Super Bowl LXIV broadcast in early 2030. That means his NBC tenure would be over 20 years when he turns 71.
That spells bad news for Greg Olsen, who wants to become a lead NFL analyst again after he was bumped to Fox’s No. 2 team by the arrival of Tom Brady.
Brady joined Fox on a lucrative 10-year, $375million deal.
Olsen has been diplomatic about the demotion but has spoken openly about wanting to be in the driver’s seat again.
‘My goals and aspirations, if anything, have even gotten more committed to I want to call top games,’ Olsen said on the Dan Patrick Show in January. ‘I want to call games in front of 57 million people and dive into the biggest moments…where that is, how that is, when that is, I don’t know.
‘There are so many moving parts out of my control,’ he continued. ‘But my goal is to be a top A broadcaster again. I’m gonna do everything in my power to achieve that.’
