A viral video is warning others to learn from the deadly mistake one man made while trying to separate two frozen burger patties.
Barry Griffiths, 57, died in his apartment in Wales, United Kingdom, after stabbing himself in the stomach in July last year when preparing a burger meal.
His body was found several days later – fully clothed, on his bed with a trail of blood in the hallway, bathroom and bedroom.
A post-mortem examination released this month revealed Griffiths, who had restricted use of one arm after suffering a stroke, died of a stab wound.
TikTok user @mr_DYK shared Griffiths’ story in a video that has received over two million views and an outpour of sympathy.

‘What they assumed happened is old Barry tried to get himself a burger for the day, and he pulled out those patties,’ the TikToker said.
‘And we all know those patties always stick together, even if they got the paper in between them.
‘You try to beat them on the side of your counter or something to get them apart, sometimes you gotta pull out the knife. That’s what Barry did.
‘He was trying to finagle these things apart and ended up accidentally stabbing himself in the stomach with the knife.’
Detective chief inspector Jonathan Rees told the coroner’s court that Griffiths would was the result of an accident he caused himself.
‘The bottom drawer of the freezer had been left open and pulled forward in a position to access food items,’ Rees said.
‘On the work surface in the kitchen adjacent to the fridge freezer were two uncooked burgers, a knife and a tea towel.

‘The wound to the abdomen would have been approximately the height of the work surface. My hypothesis at that stage was that Mr. Griffiths was attempting to separate frozen burgers using a knife.’
Distraught commenters offered their condolences and advice for others to prevent a similar fate.
‘That’s so sad. For safety please use a butter knife to separate burgers,’ one person said.
‘If I want some frozen meat I put it in the fridge overnight or use warm water from the sink to help thaw em over a period of time. NEVER had a issue I can’t even imagine why you would try n force it,’ a second person said.
‘I thought this was just an urban legend that my parents had told me,’ another said.
‘That’s some Final Destination stuff,’ said a fourth person.
