Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry reveal their all-time greatest goals… as Arsenal legend picks a former team-mate

CBS pundits Micah Richards, Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher have all revealed their all-time greatest goals.

The UEFA Champions League coverage provided by Kate Abdo, Henry, Carragher and Richards has led to countless viral moments in recent years.

The programme once again returned to screens on Tuesday night for Liverpool’s 3-1 win over AC Milan at the San Siro.

Towards the end of the coverage, Abdo went around the panel and asked several questions varying numerous topics including their playing careers.

One of the questions put to Richards, Carragher and Henry was ‘what’s the all-time greatest goal?’

Former Manchester City defender Richards wasted no time in answering, saying: ‘Roberto Carlos. I think it was vs France, freekick where he bent it and it looked like going wide and it just bent in. One of the best goals I’ve ever seen’.

Carragher, meanwhile, spared no detail as he gave his answer. He said: ‘I’m going to go for another Brazil fullback because of the game and what it meant and probably one of the greatest international teams of all-time.

‘The goal is from Carlos Alberto. It’s the fourth goal in the World Cup final in 1970 in Mexico. Brazil beat Italy 4-1.

‘It starts at the back, there’s a trick, a step over. Rivellino into Tostao, into Pele and he rolls it into Carlos Alberto. As Carlos Alberto just gets there, the ball bubbles up and he volleys it.’

Similar to Richards and Carragher, Henry’s answer came with ease as he opted for former team-mate Zinedine Zidane’s goal against Brazil in the 1998 World Cup final.

‘Zizou header against Brazil, He gave us that World Cup’, the Arsenal legend said.

Earlier in CBS’ coverage, their star-studded lineup had got even better as David Beckham briefly joined the team.

Ex-England captain Beckham – who won the Champions League with Manchester United in 1999 – made quite an entrance too.

He was originally introduced via a video link as he appeared on a giant screen inside the CBS studio.
