Queens of the Stone Age Cancel Remaining 2024 Tour Dates

Almost a month after canceling additional European tour dates following Josh Homme‘s emergency surgery, Queens of the Stone Age has wiped the remaining 2024 tour dates from their schedule to prioritize Homme’s health.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the band shared its regrets in having to cancel or postpone all of their upcoming dates. “QOTSA regret to announce the cancellation and/or postponement of all remaining 2024 shows,” wrote the group. “Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care through the remainder of the year.”

In early July, QOTSA canceled eight European tour dates so Homme could return Stateside for emergency surgery. “Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue,” they said at the time. Later that month, they canceled an additional seven performances slated for August.

Now, the collective is postponing performances in Boston, Cincinnati, Chicago and Madison to 2025, and is altogether canceling festival appearances in Mexico City, Memphis and Bridgeport.

Though it’s unclear what type of surgery Homme underwent, he’s been open about his health struggles over the years. Last year, he shared that he’d been diagnosed with a form of cancer in 2022 and underwent surgery to have it removed.

In 2023, Queens of the Stone Age released “In Times New Roman…,” its first album in six years. Shortly after, the group announced The End is Nero tour for North America followed by a set of European dates. This year, the band scheduled dates in Australia and North America, as well as some of the European shows they had to cancel.
