Andrei Baklanov, Vice President of the Russian Diplomats Association, confirmed that the main goal of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government in continuing the war on Gaza is not only to eliminate Hamas, but also to abort the Palestinian state and control all of its territories.
Baklanov said – in a special interview with Russia Today news channel today (Saturday) – that “Netanyahu hopes that by continuing the war on Gaza, history will go down in terms of the displacement of the Palestinian people and the expansion of the area of control by Israel,” stressing that the occupation government has not yet succeeded in achieving its undeclared goals from the war on Gaza.
Regarding the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of Hamas in the capital, Tehran, the Russian diplomat strongly condemned this operation, stressing that the assassination is a blatant violation of Iran’s national sovereignty, especially since it came during the inauguration ceremony of the elected president.
Baklanov stressed the importance of Tehran not being dragged into the expected scenario of Israel and the United States to launch a major war in the region. Stressing that Iran is in a difficult position to choose the appropriate response to the assassination of Haniyeh, which is an insult to it as a state.
