Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. This was reported on the official website of the Kremlin.
“Like other Western leaders, Boris Johnson expressed concern about the alleged large-scale movements of Russian forces along the Ukrainian border. In this regard, Vladimir Putin outlined in detail his basic assessments of the current situation throughout Ukraine.
In the framework of the dialogue, it was emphasized that all this is taking place against the background of the active military “development” of the territory of Ukraine by NATO countries, which poses a direct threat to the security of Russia.
In this situation, Putin declared the need to start negotiations immediately with the aim of reaching clear agreements that would rule out any further NATO advance towards the east.
