Farmer Wants A Wife Winner Slams Show For Focusing On Drama

While we’re only a couple of sleeps away from Farmer Wants A Wife 2025, one former contestant has slammed the show for being too focused on the juicy, juicy drama.

Out of the dating shows out there in the universe, Farmer Wants A Wife is arguably one of the most wholesome ones on the reality TV roster.

It’s also one of the most successful ones. Throughout its 14-season run (obviously not including 2025), the show birthed nine marriages, 10 relationships and a whopping 21 children. Married At First Sight could nevah!!!!

However, it looks like things are about to shake TF up for our country bois and gals in 2025 because one successful Farmer Wants A Wife contender expressed her grievances with the show’s new direction.

Farmer Wants A Wife 2024’s Sophie Trethowan, who found love with Farmer Dustin, recently revealed that she agrees with viewers who slammed the show for focusing on the drama rather than its wholesome, blossoming love stories.

“I guess everyone loves a bit of drama, and that’s why people do stay tuned in, but there are a lot of people who do just really like those genuine love stories,” she told Yahoo! Lifestyle.

“I know for me and Dustin, there was so much that didn’t go to air that wasn’t drama-filled. They were just really nice moments.

“I guess it is a drama reality love show at the end of the day, but you do see lots of comments where people just want to see those genuine love stories, and I feel like a lot of things get left out.”

Sophie adds that she wished Farmer Wants A Wife continued to show the nitty-gritty side of farming in Australia like it did in previous seasons.

Farmer Wants A Wife is such an opportunity to show what it’s actually like living on a farm, and I feel like they don’t do that because they focus a bit more on the drama,” she added.

“We did do a lot of filming of some farm work on the farm, and hardly any of it was shown.”

While we’ve yet to see a bar of Farmer Wants A Wife 2025, there have been whispers of behind-the-scenes drama in the lead-up to its upcoming premiere.

In March, Daily Mail Australia reported that pro bull rider Jack Rowlandson was given a rootin’ tootin’ bootin’ from the Farmer Wants A Wife lineup after he was allegedly caught seeing more than one contestant at a time.

The publication also reported that two more OG farmers “would be cut” from the line up. However, it didn’t reveal why they were axed from the show.

On top of that behind-the-scenes tea, the recent trailer for the 2025 season revealed that two contestants left the rodeo of love less than 24 hours on the farm.

Look, I know they’re looking to lasso in some romance, but I’m definitely here for the bucking drama.

Consider me sat for the tea!
