Most popular celebrity inspired baby names in the world revealed – including the ones inspired by reality TV stars

The most popular celebrity inspired baby names of 2024 have been revealed, with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood having made their stamp on the next generation of youngsters.

According to data collated by the the global name database Forebears.io and the social media and marketing agency Socially Powerful, the most popular celebrity inspired girls name in the world is Kim.

Meanwhile, the most popular boys name in the world is Leonardo, with 1,650,030 people using it across the globe.

Elsewhere and likely inspired by the famous Kardashian sister Kim, there are 1,726,724 people bearing the most popular girls moniker. The name is most prominent in the US.

Additionally, it is the 390th most popular in the world generally, soaring well above it’s rival celebrity monikers.

In second place is the name Sabrina, which falls markedly lower in the general popularity ranking, coming in at 937th place overall in the world with 963,835 with the namesake.

The name, which likely earns it’s popularity from the Espresso singer Sabrina Carpenter, is the most prevalent in Bangladesh where there is the highest density in the micronation of San Marino.

Coming in at third place is Olivia, with 746,816 name-bearers globally and ranking as the 1,270th most popular in the world with the majority of name bearers in Mexico.

Olivia was additionally awarded the top most popular girl’s baby name in the US in 2023 overall, with celebrities including Olivia Rodrigo, Olivia Wilde and Olivia Holt, possibly at the centre of the surge is frequency. 

Arriving in at fourth place is Megan, which is the 2,579th most popular moniker globally, with 400,224.

With dozens of celebrities called Megan, it’s no wonder the moniker is at the forefront of the name popularity – with Megan Fox, Megan Thee Stallion, Meghan Markle and Megan McKenna likely driving the growing eminence. 

Next is Aimee, which is ranked as 3,646th most popular with 288,450 with the name.

Having recently starred in a number of popular shows, the British actress Aimee Lou Wood is one of the most renowned Aimee’s in the celebrity sphere right now and one of the few to use the unusual spelling.

Elsewhere, Bella was in at sixth place as the 4,975th most popular overall, shortly followed by Jenna which 8,612th in the world.

In eighth place was Taylor which was then followed by Ariana and then Gigi, with the popstar Ariana Grande and model, Gigi Hadid, likely serving as inspiration for the younger generation.

It comes as the British stars Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright having welcomed their baby girl, Palma on 6 March.

Days after her birth, the pair shared the happy news on social media which promptly led to a surge in interest in breakout searches on Google for ‘Palma name meaning’ this month.

Elsewhere, coming in at first place for the most popular boys name was Leonardo, with many have potentially been inspired by the Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio. 

With around 1,650,030 namesakes across the globe, the moniker ranks as the 422nd most popular in the world and is also shared by several notable figures throughout history – including famous artist Leonardo Da Vinci.

Leonardo DiCaprio is even said to be named after the artist himself, with the actor’s mother having previously said she first felt him kick whilst looking at a Da Vinci painting in Italy.

Then, coming in at second is Justin, which is ranked at the 573rd most popular in the world with 1,352,774 people bearing it’s tag.

The title is likely inspired by the countless famous including Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake an perhaps even the former Canadian president, Justin Trudeau.

In at third place for boys was Jacob, which is ranked as the 736th most popular name in the world overall with 1,139,040 using it. 

Jacob Elordi is currently the most famous Jacob globally, having gained prominence acting in Euphoria and Salt Burn.

Reaching fourth place was Barry, with rising star Barry Keoghan likely serving as inspiration for the increase in frequency – with a far small population of 623,766. 

And lastly, Noah has arrived as fifth on the list of the most popular boys name with a far smaller total of 227,667 people bearing it’s tag.
