Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George out for season after injections on groin and knee injuries

Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George will miss the remainder of the season after receiving injections on groin and knee injuries, according to reports.
ESPN’s Shams Charania claims George, 34, is expected to be out for at least six weeks, meaning he will play no part in Philadelphia’s remaining 15 fixtures that run until April 13.
The Sixers are set to miss out on this season’s playoffs amid a miserable campaign which has left them down in 12th place in the Eastern Conference.
George has not featured for the team since March 4 after reportedly taking painkilling injections for five straight games earlier in the season.
The nine-time NBA All-Star averaged 16.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in 41 appearances this season – his first with Philadelphia after opting out of the player option in his $48.7million contract with the LA Clippers and becoming a free agent last year.
Yet after putting pen to paper on a four-year, $212m deal with the Sixers, who are 23-44 this term, he has drawn criticism from fans for letting his hair down and partying amid their disappointing form.

Last month George’s wife, Daniela, shared a provocative picture of the loved-up couple posing together on the beach during their weekend vacation.
In a separate picture, Paul appeared to be sipping some champagne. In an earlier post on her Instagram story, Daniela had posted an image of a glass that had ‘Dom Perignon’ written across it.
And while the football fans in the city of Philadelphia were celebrating the Eagles winning the Super Bowl, the basketball fans were not impressed by seeing what George was up to.
One wrote: ‘Paul George is legit on vacation during this all star weekend. Jimmy Butler would’ve rounded the Sixers up like the military sergeant from Full Metal Jacket and got us LOCKED IN.’
While another said: ‘Paul George can’t be serious dude get this guy off my team I’m sick of him embarrassing me.’
