Women share the wild ways they got used to wearing heels… from doing chores to numbing spray

Women have been flocking to social media to reveal the wild ways that they got used to wearing high heels for long periods of time, including doing chores for hours while donning the famously uncomfortable shoe and using a numbing spray.

And they’re not the first to try to overcome pain from uncomfortable footwear – as many celebrities have opted for specialty shoes on the red carpet or even gotten Botox injections in their feet.

Other stars have worn custom insoles, silicone pad inserts, or used medical tape on their toes to make spending hours on their feet in towering heels tolerable.

A woman named Sonia Lowrie took to TikTok recently to ask for advice on how she could prepare to wear 4.25-inch heels for 12 hours during her wedding.

She bought Vivian Lou insoles, which are supposed to lead to longer wear since they shift weight back – but said she was still facing difficulty.

‘If you can wear high heels for a very long period of time please help me because my wedding is coming up,’ she begged her followers.

The video quickly received more than a million views and thousands of comments from women who shared tips on how she should prepare, and how they learned when they were younger.

‘My mom made me do my chores in them as a preteen,’ one commenter revealed.

‘Start wearing them NOW all day everyday in your house,’ one woman said.

‘Tape the base of your ring and middle toes together with a Band-Aid. For some reason shifting the toe bones helps so much,’ another commenter wrote.

Some women said they switched into sneakers towards the end of the night or recommended just going barefoot at the reception, adding that ruining her wedding wasn’t worth wearing a pair of heels.

The content creator followed it up by sharing another TikTok that showed her doing chores around her house in her wedding heels.

Sonia was seen vacuuming in the footwear – but some thought she needed a practice pair so she wouldn’t scuff them up before the big day arrived.

‘As a runway model I’m telling you this is the only thing that will work,’ a catwalker revealed.

‘They putting you through Olympic training,’ another joked.
