War, what war?! Wealthy Russian and Ukrainian revellers ‘dancing together’ in fashionable French ski resort Courchevel

Extraordinary scenes show wealthy Russian and Ukrainian revellers ‘dancing together’ in fashionable French ski resort Courchevel.

The footage comes as Vladimir Putin is suspected of seeking to delay or stymie Donald Trump’s peace plan to end the three year war between the two countries.

But on the Alpine slopes, the bopping to Russian pop-rock group Leningrad appears to wind the clock back to prewar times when the elite from both Russia and Ukraine partied together during the annual ‘Spring break’ on the pistes.

Or perhaps it shows the super rich in the warring states have already decided the conflict is being wound down.

The revellers were seen dancing to song На Лабутенах [In Louboutins], a parody of nouveau riche culture, mocking the ex-Soviet obsession with luxury brands.

The lyrics tell the story of a young woman dressing up in expensive clothes for a night out, but then struggling with huge impractical heels.

Dmitry Borisenko, a Russian pro-war journalist and film director with 99,000 Telegram followers, posted: ‘From the series ‘Money beats Evil’…

‘Russians and Ukrainians are dancing together in Courchevel to Leningrad’s music…

‘Meanwhile, those who can’t afford to travel to Courchevel are expected to head to the frontlines and slaughter each other in yet another meat grinder.’

Another pro-war ‘Z’ Telegram post states: ‘While everyone is grim-faced, discussing ’30 days’ [of truce demanded by Donald Trump], here is the real truce.

‘Ukrainian and Russian ‘tourists’ raving together at a Courchevel resort to Leningrad’s songs.’

Exiled journalist and gossip columnist Bozhena Rynska – herself in Courchevel – explained: ‘The spring holidays in Courchevel were wild.

‘Lots of Russians – far more than in winter. Kazakhs and Ukrainians were also plentiful.’

She suggested it took a €20,000 [euro] payment for a Russian white, blue and red flag to be prominently displayed in France where President Emmanuel Macron is seeking with Britain to ensure European troops enter Ukraine to guarantee its security after any peace deal.

The images of Russian exuberance in the elite French resort are an embarrassment for him, and come as both sides are suffering heavy losses as Putin continues his cannon fodder attacks.

‘Russia does not give the impression of sincerely wanting peace,’ he said.

‘It does not respond to the proposals of the United States and Ukraine.

‘It is intensifying the fighting. President Putin wants to obtain everything, then negotiate.’

Russia should not be able to veto Western troops on sovereign Ukrainian soil. ‘Ukraine is sovereign, and if it asks for allied forces to be on its territory, then it is not for Russia to decide whether to agree or not,’ he said.

Showbiz stars from Moscow were in attendance at the piste partying, despite the reported EU curbs on visas.

‘There are also tons of unknown Russian women, all with inflated lips, straightened hair, tattooed eyebrows, and dressed in sable, chinchilla, and lynx furs. Clutching Birkin and Kelly bags,’ said Rynska.

‘Courchevel is like a preserved museum of Moscow in the 2000s.

‘The only change? The Birkin and Kelly bags – they’ve shrunk to half their original size.’

Out on the piste she said: ‘Legend has it [that] whoever goes to Courchevel [in] 2025 for the Spring break and fails to post a photo showing off their backside, will be deported back to Sochi [Russian sea-and-ski resort on the Black Sea].

‘Make sure your photo looks so good that even the ski slopes envy your curves.

‘Otherwise, the French might cancel your visa.’

Among the celebrities in Courchevel was Ksenia Sobchak, 43, also known as Putin’s goddaughter.

Rynska joked: ''Legend has it [that] whoever goes to Courchevel [in] 2025 for the Spring break and fails to post a photo showing off their backside, will be deported back to Sochi'

Her father Anatoli Sobchak – as mayor of St Petersburg – was ex-KGB Putin’s mentor in politics.

She and Putin kissed and embraced at a memorial for Anatoli Sobchak last month, marking the 25th anniversary of his death.

She once stood against Putin for the Russian presidency but was ridiculed by other opposition figures.

Now with an Israeli passport she was able to travel easily to France where she was spotted dancing with Russian singer Timati – a hugely popular Russian rapper, openly pro-Putin, and a strong supporter of the war.
