Nobody knows which Manchester City side we are going to get these days. They are so inconsistent.
One week, you will think they are back to their best, and then the next, they play like a pile of rubbish.
Honestly, I still find it strange that we are at this point in the season, and Manchester City aren’t in the title race.
It’s just bizarre to me; it’s what we’ve all been accustomed to.
Anyway, that doesn’t exactly matter because the fact is that they aren’t in a title race this year. This time around, Pep Guardiola’s men just need to make sure they qualify for the Champions League by finishing in the top four.
It’s a real dogfight for those European spots, and City are right in the thick of it because they just can’t stop losing.
Their defeat to Nottingham Forest last week saw them drop out of the top four altogether, although, they are only two points behind Chelsea.
Beat Brighton today, they can leapfrog the Blues and back into the top four. Sounds straightforward enough, right? Wrong.
The Seagulls are only one point behind Guardiola’s side and are breathing right down their necks. Fabian Hurzeler’s side are on a four-match league win streak and have no intention of slowing down.
It’s going to be one hell of a battle at the Etihad.
