
Former NBA player Oliver Miller has died at the age of 54.
Miller, who battled weight issues and personal problems throughout his basketball career, played 493 games across 11 seasons in the NBA.
He was nicknamed ‘Big O’ because he stood at 6ft 9 and weighed over 300lbs. At one time, he was the NBA’s heaviest player.
Miller played for the Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves.
‘I am so sad to report we have lost another @NBA Fraternity member,’ former Suns player Eddie A. Johnson posted on X.

Miller first burst onto the scene at Southwest High School in Fort Worth, Texas.
He then committed to the University of Arkansas and was named SWC Player of the Year in 1991 after starring with the Razorbacks.
Miller was drafted to the NBA by the Suns with the 22nd overall pick in 1992. He played in Arizona for two seasons before moving around the league.
Throughout his NBA career, Miller averaged 7.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
Miller also took his talents to the Continental Basketball Association. He last played in 2010, representing Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry in the Premier Basketball League.
