The View star Joy Behar calls out colleague for being ‘scared’ of upcoming Blue Origins space flight

The View star Joy Behar is questioning Gayle King’s upcoming trip to space alongside Lauren Sanchez – all while revealing her own stance on the adventure.
In late February, Sánchez announced that she would be traveling to space as a part of the historic, all-women Blue Origin mission, along with King, singer Katy Perry, and former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe.
Also onboard the trip, which is set to blast off this spring, will be civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
The spring launch will mark the 11th human flight for Blue Origin’s New Shepard program, and this specific one was brought together by Sánchez.
However, following the exciting announcement, King admitted to her CBS Mornings co-hosts that she was ‘terrified’ of the upcoming trip.
‘I don’t know how to explain being terrified and excited at the same time. It’s like how I felt about to deliver a baby,’ King said.
But even though it may be a cool opportunity, Behar isn’t so convinced about King’s decision, as she discussed it producer Brian Teta on The View’s companion podcast, Behind The Table.
‘Gayle King is shaking in her boots, I saw a thing on social about that,’ Behar said.

‘She’s scared, why is she doing it?’ the comedian added.
Her response sparked Teta to ask Behar if she would ever consider flying up to space, to which she gave a firm ‘no.’
‘Never, no, not in this lifetime, or the next, or the one after that,’ Behar said.
‘See, I guess I’m wrong, I thought I could get somebody to do this from the The View hosts,’ Teta replied. ‘Do you think any of them would?’
‘Maybe Sara,’ Behar said, referring to her co-host Sara Haines, who she claimed would be ‘the most game’ for a space mission.
The two then jokingly called Haines and pretended that there was an offer for her to go on Blue Origin – to which she said she would be ‘interested’ before they broke the news that it was just a prank.
Sánchez’s Blue Origin mission will be the first all-female flight crew since Valentina Tereshkova’s solo flight in 1963, according to their website.
Last week, the former Good Day LA cohost, who is engaged to Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos, shared a clip from the crew’s first call together on Zoom.

Of course, King was present on the call.
‘Our first call as a crew!’ Sánchez wrote in the caption of the Instagram post, accompanied by a video of her being introduced to the team.

‘Excited to share our journey with you. This is just the beginning.’
