How I found out my boyfriend was secretly living a DOUBLE LIFE and was married to someone else

A woman who found out her boyfriend was secretly married to someone else while she was expecting his baby has laid bare the horror she felt upon uncovering his ‘double life.’

The woman, who will be referred to as the pseudonym Claire throughout the story as she asked to keep her identity private, told DailyMail.com that she had been with the man, who will be referred to as Jack, for eight months when she made the discovery that turned her entire world upside down.

She explained that she and Jack met ‘online’ back in 2016, and that she was ‘instantly attracted’ to him.

‘I never had that happen before,’ she said. ‘It started as something casual then morphed into a relationship.

‘We slept with each other after two months, and I got pregnant the first time we had sex.’

At the time, everything seemed picture perfect. But looking back, she admitted that there were quite a few ‘red flags’ that she overlooked. 

‘He would only talking to me at certain times. I was only able to come over to HIS house, mostly in the evening,’ she recalled.

‘He only came over to mine once. And we didn’t go on dates often. He [told me] he had kids [from a past relationship], so it made sense, but I found out later that his wife worked nights.’ 

Eight months after they got together, Claire said the truth began to unravel after someone came to the door while she was at his house and asked to speak to someone named ‘Ashley.’

‘I was leaving his house, visibly pregnant, and a woman came to the door and asked to speak to “Ashley,” she explained. 

‘I asked who “Ashley” was, and she went silent and backed away. I asked him, and he said his ex-wife. But I had a weird feeling.’

Claire said she began to put together other ‘clues,’ like the fact that ‘the house was strangely decorated’ and that ‘there was a cheesecake in the fridge’ and she knew he didn’t bake.

Finally, she ‘confronted’ Jack about her suspicions and he made the shocking confession that he was married to another woman.

She said he told her that he had been ‘separated’ from his wife when they first started dating, but that he secretly ‘got back together’ with her during their relationship. 

‘It felt awful. I was in love with him,’ she said of the heartbreaking discovery. 

‘I had gotten out of a horrible relationship and fell hard for him. Add in being pregnant, and it was a nightmare. I was completely shocked and very angry.’

To make matters worse, Claire said Jack told her he ‘didn’t want’ anything to do with their child and that he wasn’t going to ‘be around.’

‘He and his wife are still together now,’ she revealed. ‘I didn’t speak to him after that but a few months after having the baby, he called me. He came and saw his child, and started crying.’

Now, flash forward eight years later and she said Jack is ‘in their child’s life’ and described him as an overall ‘good father.’

As for where they stand, she said, ‘We don’t really speak unless necessary.’
