The truth behind Lizzo’s shock weight loss as she flaunts new figure at Vanity Fair Oscars party

Lizzo has proudly flaunted her weight loss online, denying claims she has turned to celebrity miracle drug Ozempic in a bid to shift the pounds.
But her new figure has sparked concern among those close to her who feel distancing herself from her previous image, which was all about ‘big is beautiful,’ could impact her image.
The About Damn Time singer, 36, continued to showcase her weight loss journey at the Vanity Fair’s Oscars party in Hollywood on Sunday evening where she was pictured in a figure-hugging black gown with a fitted bodice alongside her boyfriend Myke Wright.
Speaking to DailyMail.com, one insider said her appearance feels like a ‘contradiction’ after years spent inspiring larger fans.
‘Lizzo has lost a significant amount of weight, and it’s causing concern among those close to her,’ a source told DailyMail.com exclusively.
‘She built her brand around the message bigger is beautiful and was so outspoken about how she feels about it.

‘She was such an inspiration to so many bigger women. But now that she is so determined to slim down and be gorgeous, which feels like a contradiction to who she was and what she has always stood for.’
Lizzo has denied using weight-loss drugs like Ozempic, instead insisting she has undertaken a ‘methodical’ approach to shedding the pounds including ‘months of weight training’ and living in a calorie deficit thanks to a high-protein, veggie-based diet.
‘When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit,’ she posted on Instagram back in September amid rumours she was using the Semaglutide beloved by celebrities including Sharon Osbourne and Oprah Winfrey.
She had previously talked openly about making people feel comfortable in their skin, telling Vogue in 2020 that she wanted to redefine the body positivity movement as she feared larger girls were no longer being included.
‘I would like to be body-normative,’ she said. ‘I want to normalize my body…
‘What I don’t like is how the people that this term was created for are not benefiting from it. Girls with back fat, girls with bellies that hang, girls with thighs that aren’t separated, that overlap. Girls with stretch marks. You know, girls who are in the 18-plus club.’
The insider suggested Lizzo’s image overhaul is also an attempt to distance herself from the sexual harassment allegations that were levelled against her by three of her former dancers and her ex-stylist in 2023.
She was also accused of weight-shaming and creating a toxic work environment.

‘She seems to be distancing herself from her previous image, especially after the allegations,’ they said. ‘But people won’t forget about it. There is no doubt it shook her reputation.’
Lizzo appeared to kick off a ‘new era’ last month when she dropped her first new song – Love In Real Life – in two years.
The singer was sued by Asha Daniels in September 2023 who accused Lizzo of fostering an alleged ‘sexualized, racially charged, and illegal work environment’ at her Big Grrrl Big Tour company.
The harassment and discrimination lawsuit was tossed out of a California court in December.
The filing followed another lawsuit one month prior in August 2023 by three of her former backup dancers that accused her of sexual harassment, fat shaming and creating a hostile work environment.
The defiant star called the case dismissal a ‘big victory’ in a chat on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast in December and said she had done ‘nothing wrong.’
‘We’re continuing to fight the other claims until they’re all dismissed — not dropped, but dismissed.’
‘Let’s be clear, I did nothing wrong.’
Among the shock claims made by her dancers in the suit were that she went to an Amsterdam strip club with them and allegedly encouraged ‘catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas.’
Lizzo denied this claim and said: ‘I went [to Bananenbar] on my own because I was in Amsterdam… I didn’t take [the dancers] anywhere.
‘They came to the club I was at, and it was no mandatory invitation, and I didn’t even know that those two particular dancers were coming.
‘Mind you, only two of them came, even though all three of them said they did, it was only two.’
She added it was a ‘very consensual’ experience.’
