Married At First Sight (MAFS) fans are once again dragging the show for pairing Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou together after the bride’s audition tape was leaked on TikTok by her twin sister, Cleo Rutene.
Cleo Rutene — MAFS‘ Awhina Rutene’s twin — has leaked her sister’s audition tape on TikTok, writing “whoopsie daisy” in the caption. Ugh, we love a chaotic good icon!!!
Within the audition, the 30-year-old revealed that it was her mother who inspired her to pursue a spot on the show and expressed how she was ready to find Mr Right.
“Reasons as to why I applied for MAFS was actually my mum. I told her I’m putting myself out there. I’m ready to find Mr Right, like, I wanna meet someone and she told me, ‘Why don’t you apply for MAFS?’” Awhina shared.
“I thought to myself, ‘I can’t apply for Married At First Sight.’ I haven’t even dated yet and I’m so scared and intimidated by it. But I got home and I thought about it and I said why not? How great would it be if someone found me the perfect guy for me and I didn’t have to waste another 14 years?
“I don’t want to go hook up with people and — I know it’s lazy but gosh. I don’t wanna have to filter through so many people to find the right guy.”
Cleo’s cheeky leak has already garnered more than 287.8K views and MAFS fans are PISSED that producers matched her with Adrian, who’s been slammed for his terrible treatment of Awhina in the experiment.
To give you a quick refresher, since day dot, Adrian has been dubbed a villain for 2025 for the multiple shady things he’s done! This includes texting another bride behind Awhina’s back, gaslighting her during arguments, abandoning her because he was left out of a Channel Nine promo and, most recently, enabling his sisters and bestie’s disgusting, vile, stinky, vomit-inducing behaviour towards Awhina and Cleo during Family and Friends Week.
“MAFS did her dirty with Adrian… she deserves the world and way better than him,” one punter wrote under Awhina’s audition tape.
“That man dimmed her light SM! She deserves the cream of the crop,” another fan commented.
“I can’t believe it. You can feel the purity and good intentions beaming right out of her, and they chose a boy like Adrian… I’m so gutted for her,” wrote a third.
As the season continues to rage on, many folks are holding out hope that Awhina and Adrian DO NOT go the distance. However, with recent paparazzi pics — where Adrian was spotted with another woman, and Awhina was snapped with fellow groom Billy Belcher — it appears that the pair eventually part ways.
But for now, we’ll just have to endure this BS since they’ve both opted to stay in the experiment for Couples’ Retreat Week.
