Brittany Higgins and her husband David Sharaz have welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world!
On Sunday, the former political advisor took to Instagram to share the happy news.
“Last night we welcomed our little boy into the world,” she wrote, alongside two adorable pictures of their son.
“A huge thank-you to the amazing midwives, nurses and doctors for their care and kindness.
“We’re both looking forward to getting to dote on the newest member of the family — forever grateful for all the love and support we’ve received. 🧸🙏”
Although the happy couple are yet to reveal the name of the baby, the post was flooded with congratulations to the new parents from friends, family and well-wishers.
“The world is already a better place with you in it, little fella. Your parents are wonderful, and so are you,” said a commenter.
“A beautiful boy to treasure! Congratulations,” wrote another.
And my personal favourite comment: “When can I take him to a rave?”
Brittany and David announced the news of their baby joy back in July, a month after their beautiful wedding.
“Can’t wait to meet you,” Brittany wrote from their home in Bergerac, France.
“Beyond excited to welcome a new member to our little family. Your parents are already obsessed with you and you aren’t even here yet.”
Since then, the couple have returned to Australia to start their family.
In October, Brittany shared on Instagram that her pregnancy had been “acutely stressful”.
“A fortnight ago, David and I had the shock of our lives after the midwife told us halfway through my second trimester my blood test had raised some red flags,” she wrote.
“Our baby had a high probability of a genetic disorder – which wouldn’t have mattered to us – but scarily could mean he may be incompatible with life outside of the womb.
“After an amniocentesis and a seemingly never-ending wait, our prayers were answered. Our little guy is perfectly fine and healthy.”
