Mail Sport’s racing expert Robin Goodfellow delivers his tips for Saturday’s meetings at Kelso, Newbury, Newcastle, Doncaster and Southwell.

SAM BROWN (NB) has run well in two Grade Twos this season at the age of 13 and should relish the return to a Veterans’ Chase (Newbury 1.20).

With form figures of 112 in these contests over three miles, he runs here off a 1lb lower mark than when second in a similar event at Market Rasen in January.

ACE OF SPADES (NAP) holds strong claims of making a winning handicap debut off a mark of 123 (Kelso 2.20).

It seems significant that Dan Skelton brought him up to Kelso to win a novice hurdle under a penalty last time, at a track where he has a 50 per cent strike rate this season. He can provide Harry Skelton with a valuable winner.
