Sarah Michelle Gellar Pays Tribute To Michelle Trachtenberg

Sarah Michelle Gellar has paid tribute to her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Michelle Trachtenberg following her tragic death.

The 39-year-old former child star was found unresponsive in her New York apartment by her mother on Wednesday, February 26.

After hearing the tragic news, Gellar took to Instagram to share a series of photos with the Gossip Girl star from their years working together on Buffy.

Gellar captioned the series of photos with a famous Buffy quote she’d altered for her friend.

“Michelle, listen to me. Listen. I love you. I will always love you. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. I will be brave. I will live… for you,” she wrote.

Gellar also shared an image on her story with another famous Buffy quote: “It doesn’t matter where you came from or how you got here… you are my sister.”

Trachtenberg starred as Geller’s little sister Dawn Summers on the beloved teen horror series from 2000 to 2003. She was only 15 years old when she landed the role, and it seems that the sisterly relationship Geller and Trachtenberg had wasn’t saved for the screen.

Gellar has been the latest in a string of celebrities to pay their respects to Trachtenberg.

Alysson Hannigan, who played Willow Rosenberg on the series, also shared an emotional Instagram post in Trachtenberg’s honour.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of Michelle’s passing. She brought a loving energy to the set of Buffy. My thoughts are with Michelle’s family and friends.”

Trachtenberg began her acting career at only 10 years old in the film Harriet The Spy. She went on to land high-profile roles in Buffy, Gossip Girl and Ice Princess.
