Kristen Bell & Leighton Meester’s Bring Back Gossip Girl

There’s nothing that stirs nostalgia into the hearts of millennials and elder Gen Z than the voice of Gossip Girl, AKA Kristen Bell. And it seems the talented triple treat is well aware of her influence as she brought back the dulcet tones of the beloved gossip maiden as she hosted the 2025 SAG Awards.

On Monday (local time), Kristen Bell fronted a crowd of Hollywood’s most talented actors. During the awards show, Bell reunited with her Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester (AKA Blair Walforf) to take us on a walk back to the golden years (that’s 2007 to 2012, when Gossip Girl was on TV, if you were wondering).

In a comedy bit, Bell did her iconic voice-over as she dished out some juicy gossip about the people in the room sent to her by Meester. When we say dished, we really mean it because the only “gossip” she gave turned out to be about the food.

“Leighton, none of this is gossip. It’s just all about food,” Bell exclaimed.

“I’m sorry. I’m just really hungry,” Meester said.

She then passed the mic over to the cast of Conclave — a drama-thriller about clergy members choosing the next pope — joking that the “popes in Conclave are better at gossiping than us” and quipped that the film was basically “Gossip Girl 2.0”.

So true, diva, so true. You can check out the moment below.

This little sketch isn’t the only cross over we’ll be seeing from Meester and Bell. Last week, Meester was confirmed to be making a guest appearance in Netflix’s drama-comedy Nobody Wants This which also stars Bell and Meester’s husband Adam Brody.

The news came after Brody did his own cheeky cameo in Meester’s latest series Good Cop/Bad Cop.

So, to answer Gossip Girl‘s age-old question: yes, we did miss you. Thanks for the walk down memory lane with tis sketch.
