Biohacker Bryan Johnson reveals disgusting effect on his body when he has an ultraprocessed cheat meal

Controversial biohacker Bryan Johnson has revealed the last time he had a cheat meal and what it really made him feel like.

Sitting down exclusively with DailyMail.com, longevity entrepreneur Mr Johnson, who is 47 but has the body of a man in his 30s, said it’s been four years since he strayed from his rigid vegan diet.

Mr Johnson is on a mission to spread his ‘Don’t Die’ movement and the centimillionaire wants to break the 120-year ceiling of human life expectancy, reportedly spending millions of dollars a year to live forever.

As part of his mission, Mr Johnson follows a vegan diet, avoiding any type of animal food product or ultra-processed foods. So when he ate French fries, he instantly felt sick.

Recalling his last indulgent meal, Mr Johnson said he had about 20 chili cheese fries with his son.

He told this website: ‘I had chili cheese fries I think four years ago. My son, he was like, “Dad, I don’t believe you when you tell me that you’re going to get sick or that you don’t like them. So let’s do an experiment. We’ll get them, you have some and we’ll see how you do.”

‘So we did get them and I ate, I forget how many, maybe like 15 to 20 of them. I got sick.’

He said he was sick for hours and his resting heart rate rose. Later that night he experienced ‘sleep hell.’

Mr Johnson said: ‘So when I was laying down, like my heart is racing, I can feel it. I can’t go to sleep. I’m waking up all the time tossing and turning, and the next morning I was just like, I feel terrible.

‘It’s just awful and I don’t want to do that ever again.’

Resting heartrate before bed is something ‘that predicts sleep with the greatest power,’ he said.

His is about 40 beats per minute, but after the cheat meal, that increased by 50 percent to 60 beats per minute.

And an increase like that can have a big effect on someone’s sleep, which is crucial to keep a person healthy and  increase their lifespan.

He said: ‘When it comes to cheat days, it sounds so miserable to me. The idea of eating a doughnut or a pizza or something, I know immediately I’m going to have intense regret.

‘I’m going to hate myself for five hours. I feel sick; I’m not going to sleep well that night.

‘Tomorrow I’m going to feel awful and cloudy. It wrecks my heart, just wrecks me as a person. It’s not fun. It’s not enjoyable.

‘I don’t want to do it and I think that’s hard for most people to imagine that you could be like that. That you could get to a state where you actually don’t crave eating bad foods.’

In his pursuit of longevity, not only does Mr Johnson follow a healthy diet, he undergoes hundreds of medical tests a year, including MRIs, CT scans, blood tests and nighttime erection tracking.

To cheat death he receives transfusions of his son’s blood, takes about 50 supplements a day and undergoes penile shock therapy.

He also gets Botox in his penis, adheres to a rigid his sleep schedule and has even traveled to an island to undergo experimental gene therapy.

Mr Johnson claims he is ‘ the most measured person in human history’ and ‘this whole process of going through the scientific review and then measuring my body gave us really interesting insights that nobody had ever done.’

He then publishes all his data online to ‘share for free with everybody in the world. We don’t hold anything back’ in hopes it will inspire other people to improve their health and adopt his ‘Don’t Die’ mindset.

Mr Johnson has received criticism for his extreme lifestyle, and while he said people ‘assume I’m miserable’ or ‘assume I want to do cheat days… that I miss a whole bunch of stuff…  those things are incorrect.’

Despite what people may think, the biohacker said: ‘I love this game so much. I love the process of going through the scientific literature… I love trying to see if we can improve. To me, this is like my best life.’

However, Mr Johnson admitted there is one thing he wishes he could have taken with him into his new lifestyle: Brooklyn warehouse raves.

He told this website: ‘I think the most significant event here was the warehouse parties in Brooklyn – and man that was just like peak life.

‘I mean, beginning at midnight and then like when the sun was rising it was too early [to end]. It happened too fast.

‘My sleep is my most important thing in my life. I wish there was a way for me to participate in Brooklyn-style dance parties and also get my sleep.

‘And so that’s what we’ve been trying to do with the Don’t Die summit. We have these dance parties in the day, in the mornings, where we try to get that thrill of dancing and being together, but it doesn’t come at the cost of sleep.

‘And so I think slowly but surely we’ll make these cultural changes where we can have these rich, fulfilling experiences and it doesn’t need to come at the cost of making us age faster and put us at higher risk for disease.’
