Pittsburgh Steelers make stunning trade query over rival quarterback Trevor Lawrence

The Pittsburgh Steelers have asked about a possible trade for Trevor Lawrence, the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, in what would be a blockbuster move as the franchise hunts for its new signal caller.

That’s according to Ryan Burr of the Big 10 network, who claims he was told about the move ‘from the horse’s mouth in Jags organization’.

At present, the Steelers are in an uncertain position when it comes to quarterback. Both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson played there last season, with Fields starting the role before Wilson replaced him after overcoming a calf issue.

But both men are now out of contract, which has now seemingly led the Steelers to making a big call to an AFC rival.

The Jaguars took Lawrence with the first pick of the 2021 after his college career with Clemson Tigers.

According to Burr, the Steelers would consider giving their first and second round picks from this year’s Draft to the Jaguars, who are in a rebuilding phase under new head coach Liam Coen.

But next year’s first round pick will not be on the table, Burr suggested, because Pittsburgh is hosting the 2026 Draft.

The Steelers made the playoffs this season but were beaten by the Baltimore Ravens.
