Another Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 bride has gone rogue on social media, revealing whether she and her reality TV hubby made it beyond the lights, camera and the ouch couch.
In a mammoth tea spill, controversial bride and alleged Miss New Zealand Jacqueline Burfoot has revealed how her MAFS journey ends and spoiler alert: it’s not looking too good for her and warrior groom Ryan Donnelly.
Taking to her business account @jacquelineleejewellery, the 29-year-old NSW-based consultant claimed that viewers were fed a “highly edited fictional storyline” regarding her journey on MAFS and admitted to “playing up for the camera (a tiny bit)”.
“I agree — my character makes no sense — that’s not my fault — blame the editors,” she began in her lengthy IG Stories.
“I signed up for an unfiltered, raw, real marriage experiment / AKA documentary. I am fully in this for a life partner — taking it seriously, but having heaps of fun, laughter and playing up for the camera (a tiny bit).”
She then wrote she “can’t sit back and support misleading and deceptive stories”, hence why she decided to speak out via her business account.
“I love all dogs, am deeply insecure (hence why I need constant compliments, but hey don’t we all deserve that?), I am ready to settle down to have babies (4-5 kiddos) AND I am currently in a relationship with a person who was exactly what I asked for,” the 2025 bride spilled.
“Sometimes miracles happen because today I am in fact happy and in a loving long-term relationship.”
In a second Instagram Story, Jacqui spilled more tea about her MAFS marriage to Ryan, revealing they agreed they were a “terrible match” during the first Commitment Ceremony. She also claimed Ryan lied about their intelligent conversations and that he’d shut her down when she tried to make suggestions during their relationship.
“I’m a mellow, chill person who just likes to go with the flow, trust the universe and figure it out,” she penned.
“Of course I was trying to stand up for myself against Ryan, but it was impossible. He would shut be down every time I tried to suggest something. Instead of starting fights, I shrugged my shoulders and went off to do my own thing and often [cried].
“I had given up on Ryan at this point and we are just friends.”
In another Instagram Story, Jacqui opened up about her thoughts on Jake Luik‘s “crazy eyes” comment he made during the photo ranking challenge.
According to the 2025 bride, she claimed that multiple sources told her the groom didn’t start the comment and that it was an “inside joke” from someone else.
“When we were at the [Commitment Ceremony], before I knew what was said, I yelled out and said I didn’t want to hear it,” she continued on her Instagram Story.
“As we saw, Ashleigh [Ackerman] went ahead anyway. I straight away said, ‘Oh, I don’t care, my eyes probably are crazy no stress, I forgive you Jake.’
“Jake was almost in tears and genuinely full of remorse. I felt really bad for him and felt like there was more to the story that we didn’t hear. I was quite uneasy and my gut felt like something was off… But Jake left the next day and I never heard anything from either of them again.”
Jacqui’s mammoth tea spill comes shortly after fellow bride Morena Farina called out MAFS for its editing, accusing producers of putting words in her mouth and frankenbiting her scene during the Commitment Ceremony.
“How did they do this? How did they make my lips move with those words? Oh my god, can someone help me figure this out?” she wrote on Instagram.
MAFS is truly the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to reality TV drama — both on and off the screen.
