Princess Sofia of Sweden and her husband her Prince Carl Philip have been photographed leaving hospital with their new baby.
The couple, whose daughter was born on Friday, were pictured smiling broadly as they made their way from Danderyds Hospital near Stockholm with their daughter on Saturday.
According to the Palace, the royal, 40, delivered a ‘healthy’ daughter at 1.10pm, with her husband, Prince Carl Philip, by her side. Weighing a little over eight pounds at birth the Swedish newborn is the the couple’s first baby girl.
The couple, who have yet to share the name of their new bundle of joy already have three sons Prince Alexander, eight, Prince Gabriel, seven, and Prince Julian, three.
As she left the hospital, Princess Sofia was glowing, looking radiant as she smiled at waiting photographers.
She was dressed casually, wrapping up warmly for the brisk Swedish weather, donning dark flared trousers, a high neck cream sweater, and a coordinating cream jacket.
She wore her brunette tresses loose, and a natural make-up look, with glowing skin. She finished off the look with a baseball cap and thick soled dark boots.
Meanwhile, her husband was equally casual, opting for green slacks, blue trainers, a blue shirt, navy Winter coat, and green baseball cap.

The royal couple announced last September that they would be having their fourth child together.
A Palace statement revealing the pregnancy at the time said: ‘Swedish Royal Household at the time of the pregnancy announcement read: ‘Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have the great pleasure to announce that the Princess is expecting the couple’s fourth child.
‘Princess Sofia is doing well and the birth is expected in February 2025. No changes are expected in Princess Sofia’s official program during the autumn.’
The statement was shared alongside a sweet photograph of the couple, with Carl Philip smiling at the camera, while his wife leaned her head on his face. The background featured a stunning lake and several mountains.
While she is eighth in line to the throne, Sofia and Carl Philip’s child will not have an HRH style title because of a decision made by King Carl XVI Gustaf in 2019.
During his Christmas speech, he revealed that he was stripping his grandchildren of their titles so that it could help them ‘eventually carve out their own future’.
The monarch said at the time: ‘The decision was to make clear who within the royal family will act as official representatives of Sweden in the future. For me, this is a way of clarifying what expectations are.
‘It will hopefully be helpful when my grandchildren eventually carve out their own future. But, to that day, it is far away.’

The new addition to the Swedish royal family is also King Carl and Queen Silvia’s ninth grandchild. Following the birth, the official Swedish royal family Instagram account published a picture announcing the news, prompting many fans to congratulate the couple.
One wrote: ‘Many congratulations! There came the long-awaited girl!’
Another penned: A little princess in the middle of all the darkness, Sweden needed that right now.’
A third said: ‘Omg. Congratulations to Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia for the birth of their baby girl.’
A fourth commented: ‘What happiness, a daughter among all the nice kids!’
Carl Philip is the only son and second child of Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. His older sister Princess Victoria, 47, is the heir to the Swedish throne.
In early December last year, Sofia hit a milestone and turned 40. However she postponed the celebrations because she was heavily pregnant.
She told Vogue Scandinavia: ‘I’m going to be quite highly pregnant. So, I think a bigger birthday party will wait a little bit. So probably just with my closest friends and family. I would not change where I am at all. I’m in a very happy place in life.’

Carl Philip and the then-Miss Hellqvist announced their engagement in June 2014.
The announcement followed a four-year relationship that sparked outrage in Sweden when it first became public in 2009.
Since then, however, Princess Sofia has become one of the best-loved members of the Swedish royal family.
Among the positive feedback she has received from the public, fans praised the royal for working in hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic.
