Is Ted Lasso Season 4 Happening? Everything We Know So Far

Just when we thought Ted Lasso had blown the final whistle, it seems the game might be going into extra time.

Juno Temple, aka the fabulous Keeley Jones, has just dropped a bombshell that’s got fans more excited than Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) at a yoga class.

In a February 2025 chat with Entertainment Weekly, Juno dropped this little nugget: “I’ve heard the kind of stunt version of, yeah, potentially, it sounds like there might be a season four. I don’t know when. I don’t know exactly who, what, why, where, but I think it sounds like those cogs are turning.”

Nate Shelley, played by Nick Mohammed, has also been stirring the pot. In a video on X, Nick apologised for moving his upcoming tour dates due to “some filming.” He couldn’t say what it was for, but he did wave around a “BELIEVE” sign.

“I know there’ll be speculation as to why you’ve moved these dates,” Nick teased in the video.

“I’ll be honest, it is for some filming.” He then added, “it will be announced shortly,” while urging people not to speculate. Yeah, right.

Even the big wigs are getting in on the action. Warner Bros. TV boss Channing Dungey spilled some tea to Variety back in October 2024, saying, “We are in conversations about season four, and they are very exciting conversations, but it’s still early days.”

9To5Mac also reported that the Magic Rays of Light podcast (an Apple TV+ focused podcast) revealed a potential production start date, and also claimed that season four has been publicly listed on the Film & Television Industry Alliance’s website.

If the rumours are true and filming kicks off in early 2025, based on previous production schedules, we might expect season four to grace our screens in early to mid-2026.

Now, before we start doing victory laps around the pitch, let’s remember we’re still in pre-season territory here. No official announcement has been made, but that hasn’t stopped fans from flocking back to Apple TV+ for a rewatch. The show is currently sitting pretty at No. 5 on the platform with fans excited about the potential news even though the show wrapped in 2023.

What is the potential plot for Ted Lasso Season 4?

So, what’s the go if season four does kick off? Well, it looks like we might be switching leagues, so to speak. Word on the street is that the focus could shift to AFC Richmond’s women’s team.

But here’s where it gets tricky, folks. If Ted Lasso returns, it might need to go without its star at the centre of it. Jason Sudeikis has banged on about the three-season arc, so his involvement is unclear.

“It sounds like such a political answer, but it’s the truth,” he said on a 2023 episode of David Spade and Dana Carvey’s Fly on the Wall podcast.

“We only conceived these three [seasons], then this thing became this big old thing.”

One of the strongest candidates to lead the charge? None other than our girl Keeley. Temple seems like she’s up for the job, saying: “I haven’t thought about that, but I think that’s definitely something I would find to be a great journey for Keeley and also for Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), you know?” per ET.

“And I think, also, women’s football is something that is so exciting – especially in England, we’ve been doing so well.”

But remember people, we’re still in the “believe” stage here. It’s all speculation and whispers for now.

In the meantime, I’ll be rewatching the only show to ever make me care about sports. And you can join me as all three seasons of Ted Lasso are available on Apple TV+ now.
