Married At First Sight viewers mock bride Jacqui Burfoot for bursting into tearless sobs after absurd vows to groom Ryan Donnelly

Jacqui Burfoot walked down the aisle with Ryan Donnelly on Sunday’s episode of Married At First Sight.

And the 29-year-old consultant was left sobbing shortly after the ceremony when she was forced to ‘take the lead’ in the relationship.

The pair were posing for their post-ceremony photos and Jacqui objected to having to be assertive and take Ryan’s hand, as he had not offered.

‘That’s one thing I wanted, a man to take the lead,’ the Sydney consultant said, becoming upset.

‘Because I don’t want to be the one…’ she trailed off, before bursting into bizarre, tearless sobs.

Fans tuning in were not impressed by the emotional display, with many posting on X that they felt the crying seemed faked.

‘I AM CONFUSED, WHY IS SHE CRYING,’ shouted one person while another said, ‘Fake crying’.

‘Jacqui needs to audition for a soap opera IMMEDIATELY,’ wrote another while someone else chimed in, ‘Okay Jacqui wins the worst fake cry of the season.’

‘Did I miss something? Why did she start (fake) crying?’ someone else asked with one more questioning, ‘I zoned out – why is Jacqui fake crying?’

‘Hi Jacqui. I’m here to tell you that when people cry, they usually have tears,’ one more person posted.

‘Um what is happening with Jacqui? Is it audition time for Home and Away now?’ another mused.

Jacqui was introduced earlier in the episode and indicated that with her impressive résumé of yoga instructor, ex-cheerleader, and corporate professional, it’s impossible to find someone on her level.

She wanted a ‘male version’ of herself’ but couldn’t hide her disappointment when Ryan rocked up with dark hair and scruff.

‘I’m a bit disappointed he’s not blonde,’ she admitted, crushing his heroic heart faster than you can say ‘shave, mate’.

Jacqui was not impressed by Ryan’s vows when the pair met at the aisle earlier in the episode.

‘You’ve knocked me out of the park,’ he gushed at his new bride.

Jacqui, the connoisseur of compliments, wasn’t buying it.

‘It felt rehearsed, if I’m being honest,’ she complained to producers, setting her own stage for an epic eye-roll.

Requiring monthly flowers, spontaneous vacations, and the eventual acquisition of a Cocker Spaniel puppy, she laid out her terms with the precision of a seasoned negotiator.

All of this while casually mentioning their inevitable death.

The pièce de résistance came when the newlyweds were supposed to float down the aisle, hand in hand.

Ryan, the supposed warrior, seemed to misplace his courage, leaving Jacqui to take his hand and lead the way herself.

Married At First Sight continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine

There was further controversy when Jacqui's vows read more like a corporate contract than a declaration of love
