Raygun, real name Rachael Gunn, made her Olympic debut in Paris as the sport of breaking was held for the first time, dressed head to toe in the Australian cricket team’s tracksuit and cap.
Now she has been invited to put her cricket skills to the test in an invitational match at Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s home Kirribilli House as part of an all-celebrity lineup.
Nova FM hosts Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie have turned the cricket match into an annual tradition, with Ritchie captaining one side and the boys joint-skippers of the other one.

The match will be held at the house of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese who will also take part
A host of other celebrities are set to be named to take part in the backyard match, with funds raised to go to Ronald McDonald House
Now the radio hosts have named the first celebrity for the 2025 edition of the cricket match, with Raygun to make her debut in the sport at Kirrilbilli House.
‘I have not,’ she said when asked if she had ever played cricket at Kirribilli House before.
‘Not been to Kirribilli, not played cricket at Kirribilli, not really played any cricket.
‘But I am ready for it. I’m going to work hard and prepare.’
‘I feel you are going to do for cricket what you have already done for breakdancing,’ Crissie Swan, filling in for Kate Ritchie, said.
‘I feel like I am ready in a way that nobody else is,’ Raygun said.
‘Because I feel like I am already ready for the kind of cricket chique look, I feel like I have already nailed that.
‘That’s what I am going to bring, that kind of style. That’s what it’s about, isn’t it?’
Raygun said there is a good chance she will bust out the kangaroo pose during the match
The Olympic breakdancer may not have come close to the medals, but she became an internet sensation courtesy of her Australian-themed routine
Celebrities like Boy George (left) have adopted the kangaroo move made famous by Raygun
‘Albo is actually my local member so it is pretty exciting to get to meet him,’ she said.
‘I’ve got a couple of issues with my bins that I would love to talk to him about.’
‘How do you handle the requests? Do the dance, do the kangaroo,’ Wippa asked.
‘It depends on what the vibe is,’ she said.
‘If it’s a bit like, ‘oh it’s Raygun, can you dance?’, then it’s a bit weird.
‘But if people are having a fun and trying it, I will get involved. I just like to have a bit of fun.’
‘To see you coming into bowl and break out the kangaroo move would be extraordinary,’ Wippa added.
‘It could come out at any moment,’ Raygun said.
Kate Ritchie has not been on he airwaves after taking time away from the show, with troubling images surfacing of the former Home and Away star crying in a public park
Former Big Brother contestant Chrissie Swan has been filling in for Ritchie on the Nova show
It comes after producers teased I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans by suggesting that Raygun could have been heading into the jungle this season in their promotional material.
But she has turned down all reality television requests until this point.
‘There were a lot of reality TV requests,’ Raygun told Nova radio at the time.
‘As someone that went viral from their performance at the Olympics, I think I’ve got a very memeable face, it’s very expressive.
‘And I just feel like going on reality television… I just feel like going on reality television is just not the right move.’
It remains unclear whether Ritchie or Swan will be the captain of one of the celebrity teams, with Ritchie on personal leave from the show.
The troubled star was spotted crying in a public park this week after not returning to the Nova show after the ratings break.
Ritchie’s agent Mark Morrissey and fellow manager Erin Keneally have spent time talking to the star about her wellbeing.
A witness, who saw Ritchie get out of the car at the park, said the star ‘looked really distressed’.
‘She walked around a bit in the park while talking and then suddenly she sat down and started rocking her whole body back and forth and crying,’ they said.
‘It was really confronting – she looked so upset. When she turned around her eyes were all red and puffy and she looked absolutely devastated.’
Swan will continue in Ritchie’s place on the Nova timeslot for the interim.
